I have been thinking for a while about posting this as I don't think many people will want it. Furtermore I think that quit some programming would be necessary to realize it.
I checked out a program ShareAMP (available on http://www.download.com) the other day and liked the idea behind it very much. This player allows user in a network to control the songs played on one PC from any PC in that network.
As player in this case the PC that's playing the songs would be selected. Maybe the DB from that PC would be loaded into MM (on the other PC's) and the Now Playing list would reflect the Now Playing list on the PC playing the songs.
This probably could be done as plugin (ShareAmp I believe can use WinAmp, or another program I saw on download.com could do this).
Let me give you a case where this might be usefull: I have a Media PC that is connected to TV and Stereo. I often move speakers from the stereo to other locations (outside/game room). In order to change something in the now playing I would need to return to the PC to do this. With network playing, I would take my laptop to whatever location I'm in and would be able to control the music. Not to mention that the readability of the program on a regular PC/laptop monitor is far better than that of a TV screen (is very tough with the small font of MM).
I know that this will probably not implemented into MediaMonkey, but I posted it to see what others think or if a solution is present.
Urgency: Would be nice, really like the idea, but don' even expect it
Network playing

Idea is nice I also have similar problem I have speakers in whole appartment and music is played from PC in my room, visualisation is on every TV (My litttle party mode), remote control over Radio connected on PC,... I'm thinking of making Third Party App for accessing MM Library over Network and managing Now Playing and Play lists but fair low on priority.

A solution
Wouldn't network sharing of Now Playing be really easy to achieve?
First condition would be share the DB itself on the networked PC's.
Secondly the Now Playing would be stored in a DB table when network sharing of Now Playing would be turned on.
Any change to the Now Playing would be reflected in the DB table and as such all the Now Playing windows would be updated on other users PC's as well (when they have network sharing of Now Playing turned on).
Only one PC would actually be playing the Now Playing content and everybody would listen to that (the bold now playing track should be displayed on all too).
This needs to be an option as people might not want to share the Now Playing while they do want to share the DB.
This network sharability of the Now Playing would be a very nice Gold feature in MM!
