I'm new; as of today. Have MM4.0.3 Free. Looks like what I'm looking for, but the main thing I wanted is the Party Mode. Now, since Play Now = Play Next = Play Last, then party mode means nothing. The whole idea is to allow party goers to select what they want to listen to, but it's either Play Now or listen to the next song in the library listing after the current song.
Now, I always assume I'm doing something wrong, but I do click a lot of buttons before I came to the forum. Am I doing something wrong or do I have to "upgrade" to the $$ version to get these features to work.
Thanks for your help.

I don't follow, these options do something different, not the same. How are you adding files to the Now Playing in Party Mode and what do you want to achieve?

Re: Play Now = Play Next = Play Last
Well, since I'm new, I need direction. What I mean by the title, Play Now = Play Next = Play Last, is that selecting one doesn't do anything. No matter which I choose, the only way to play something not next in the list is to double click it, and then it starts playing Now.
I was my understanding that there is some way to allow the user(s) to randomly pick songs in the list of everything available and then when the current song is over one of the selected songs plays, not the next one in the list.
So, I go into party mode, and it's still the same.
I don't want to make playlists prior to a party. I want to allow party attendees to select what they want to listen to. Thought this is a function of MM.

I still don't really understand the problem.
Under Tools > Options > Party Mode set Default 'Double Click' Action to Play Next and 'Play Now' Action to Play selected files only. This should allow you to double click on a file and have it added to be played next.
If you're not selecting any files/playlists to be played you may want to enable the Auto-DJ under Tools > Options > Auto-DJ/Now Playing so it always has something to play.

Re: Play Now = Play Next = Play Last
Sorry I' so dumb. This shall be my last attempt. Here's the scenario:
I'm having a party. I start up MM and it shows a window with ALL my mp3s listed in the middle. I double click a song to get it started
playing. I put the screen & keyboard where party attendees have access. Later, Patsy wants to hear a certain song. She goes to the keyboard and while looking at the screen, selects the song she wants to play.
Currently: to actually hear the song, she has to double click the song name. If she only single clicks to highlight the song name .....
NOTHING happens. I.E. when the previous song ends, the next song in the Entire List will be played.
BUT, if Patsy does double click, the previous song IMMEDIATELY ends and her selection starts. Not good either.
What I'd like: Patsy goes to PC, finds song and with mouse, double clicks its name. Then it is placed into a temporary play list, so when all the previously selected songs have played, her choice gets played. LIKE A JUKEBOX.
I was under the impression that MM had this DJ mode, or Party Mode, in which this kind of action is done. But I can't figure out how to make it do so.
Therefore it brings up this question: do I have to create a playlist for Party mode, or the DJ, to play??

Options > Player
When playback is stopped: Play now
When files are playing: Play last
Works fine for me.

Re: Play Now = Play Next = Play Last
You'd need to enable Party Mode (View > Party Mode) first and make sure the settings are set to Play Next as suggested previously. You'd still need to double click on the file to play.

LargeAllen,
I don't know if you found a solution, but I think what you want can be added to your toolbar. Right click on the toolbar, click configure, click Player in the right window and in there are what you want. Put them on any toolbar you want.
