How to detect the BPM of m4a files?

I just had a nasty surprise and realised that Mixmeister only works with mp3 files, not with m4a. In fact I can't find ANY BPM analyser, freeware or other, that works with m4a. Are m4a files a dead zone? Is there any way to detect the BPM?
