My entire music collection is stored on a separate server on the network. I recently had to reinstall its operating system and since then it's all been downhill. All of the files became greyed out as if the file was missing, even though I put all the names and directories in the same place, so it's still the exact same url across the network. Of the handful - literally - of files that remain, most are missing the majority of their metadata tags and the ones that still have something in their tags only display an 8, a square, and then a filled in circle. My collection is several hundred gigabytes, and it will be extraordinarily unfortunate if I lose them due to a system malfunction. What have I done incorrectly? I've even gone as far as uninstalling the program entirely with Revo Uninstaller and reinstalled to no avail...
EDIT: Figured it out! Somehow during my reinstallation of the server's operating system, I changed the ownership of the directories recursively. Changing the ownership to it's prior state fixed my issue.

Re: Almost Entire Library Disappeared
Did you use a mapped drive instead of a UNC path for the network drive prior to reinstalling the OS?

Re: Almost Entire Library Disappeared
I tried both remapping the drive and adding the directory via networked path. What difference would it have made? You have me curious now...
Re: Almost Entire Library Disappeared
If you used Mapped Drive prior to OS reinstall you should have used: http://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/index.p ... w_computer
If you used a UNC Path prior to OS reinstall it should work after reinstall as long as you have credentials to access the network drive.
The lack of tags on rescan may indicate the tags weren't saved to the files which can be due to you disabling the option to do so or because MediaMonkey lacked rights to modify the files. Your best bet on recovery is trying to see if you have a backup of the database available and then use: http://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/index.p ... w_computer
