Hello,
my situation:
I am using MM4 with enabled dlna server and it is configured to be a renderer as well. This runs on a desktop machine with win7. I can now control MM remotely from my mobile phone using bubbleupnp. This works perfectly.
Problem was that the control point app must be running all the time. This is very inconvenient.
I installed bubbleupnp server onto the same desktop pc and enabled the "open home" function for the mediamonky renderer. This enables me to create playlists on my phone and play them with MM on my desktop pc. It doesnt matter if the app is running or not since the playlist is now stored on the bubbleupnp server. This is a lot more convenient also because this playlist can now be retrieved and edited from other devices.
Only one problem remains now:
When I am sitting in front of the desktop pc and can directly use MM I do not see the playlist which I created with my mobile phone. Only the current track is shown in the playlist. It is not possible to "manually" edit the playlist. When i hit "skip" it finds the next track in the playlist.
Question:
How is it possible to show the complete playlist also in the mediamonkey software so that I can also edit it when I am using the Mediamonkey software directly.
I hope my problem has become clear now.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you very much in advance
Afman

Re: Display open home media server playlist in Mediamonkey
you made external m3u lists. you save them on a server, play them through mm and want mm to enter that server and edit the m3u lists.?
not possible mm only edits m3u lists he creates and keeps in his database, he will import m3u lists to his database but then he is playing them from there, and not from the server. only way to edit them is to put mediamonkey on the server. since it is a phone you said. is it an andriod phone? if so get the mm android app in the beta test forum and try that. you will have to remake the playlists with that mediamonkey as android won't allow mm to play m3u's unless mm created them.

I have not seen clients that show more than 1 file to be played when controlled remotely. Have you seen any server - client combo where that is the case?

hey,
thanks for your replies.
well all other control points can access and edit the playlist on the server so i assumed it could also be possible with MM.
I will have a look at the MM android app and see whether it fits my needs.
cheers
