Frequently (over half the time) when adding a folder of music into the file structure of my media drive, MM displays part of the CD with the Artist and Album Artist correctly, but the other part lists the Artist correctly, and Unknown as the Album Artist. The selection has to be opened via right click and then the Album Artist field clicked, whereupon the field is filled correctly.
This does not happen when ripping CDs into the library, only when manually, via File Explorer, moving folders of music into the file structure of my music library.
This is quite annoying, requiring about 3x as much time to add music to the library. Any solution for this other than manually entering as I am doing.
Thanks

What file type and are the tags present in the files themselves prior to scanning.

File type are both FLAC and MP3, and tags are sometimes present (artist, album artist only), sometimes not. Issue occurs under both circumstances.
Re: Unknown Album Artist on Part of Imported CD
It's likely Infer File Properties that is causing issues (under Tools > Options > Library). However I'm not certain why there is a difference between files on the same Album.

Re: Unknown Album Artist on Part of Imported CD
That is what I have not been able to figure out, with all other things being equal, the Album Artist should tag the same for all the files in the same CD/folder that is being copied over. I have swapped "tags then inferred properties" to the opposite, and will try that with the next set of music I copy over. Re: Unknown Album Artist on Part of Imported CD
I prefer it disabled. Any folder/filename tagging can be done with Tool > Auto-Tag from Filename where you control it.
A debug log (step 4b) send to support may be a good idea: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=69
