Failed to download

Post by mbch331 »

I'm using MMA 1.1.3.0461 syncing with MM 4.1.8.1751 over WiFi on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 running android 4.4.2. There are 12 files that need to be synced from my computer to my tablet. Everytime I try this I get Failed Download (12). I checked the required version of MediaMonkey Free for Windows and at first I had an older version. Upgraded MediaMonkey Free for Windows to 4.1.8.1751. Same error message when trying to sync. I rebooted my tablet, no change, same error. Destination folder is the folder for MediaMonkey on my SD card (the only folder I could normally sync to). The error message doesn't tell me what the problem is. Can't use USB sync, because my computer doesn't recognise my Tablet. Error occurs at the end when the results of the sync are shown.

I had this problem where some of the files didn't get synced while others did. I noticed that it happened with my Classical Music files as opposed to the Music files.

I thought about it a bit more, and figured out that the problem was the folders & files that were being used on my phone. While I had changed the file structure for Classical Music on my PC, I hadn't thought about it on the phone. The default for saving files on an Android system included the Artist, and some of my classical files included a long laundry list of artists. You have to define the path and name for each device you're syncing; they aren't copied from the PC's settings.

It is possible that the file name and path are just too long for those files?

It can't be the length of the file name. I can manually copy the files to the wanted folder on my tablet without problems and I have files with a longer name, which have been added by MediaMonkey for Android via WiFi.

Just tested it with .0462 and problem still exists. I can't sync anything with my tablet.

There were some changes re. SD card synchronization over the course of this beta that have been resolved. You _must_ update both MMW and MMA to the latest betas for it to work.

Already noticed it some time ago. It suddenly started to work again.
