Not Convert Format to MP3 but only Volume Level on MP3 ?

Post by E.Baba »

Hey there fellow Monkeys.
It's been a (long) time since I logged on here.
I used to have a Gold Monkey but I 'updated' which meant I was left with standard free monkey (currently 4.1.8.1751) which I was getting on with OK but now I have Qs.

It would seem to me that I can't now convert my CDs to MP3 format when ripping. So I just went with flac (lossless anyway).
It would also seem to me that 'Level Track Volume' only works on MP3. No worries cos I didn't want to permanently screw with my files anyway.

Now, I wasn't too worried either way just running things from the PC cos I used Analyze Volume and Level Playback Volume.

Q: --- > What has become a problem is that I'm loading stuff to a flash drive to use in the car and I want to 'Level Track Volume', but it ONLY works on MP3 which I CAN"T rip my CDs to. So it's forcing me to only have on the flashdrive MP3s which I've downloaded from the Net. Not really the point of having my own collection of music to draw from.

So A: how do I Convert to MP3 so I can stick them on the flashdrive and Level the Volume?
or
B: How do I level the volume of other formats on the flashdrive.

Thanks for help.

How can't you Rip or Convert to MP3? How does the process fail, what error is shown?

Pop up says free Monkey won't do it beyond 30 days 'trial' and that I have to buy a Gold Monkey.

Which I guess is the solution; and then try to never update ever again (unless I go and pay for a lifetime Gold Monkey).

OK. Thanks for your time.

( I guess I got used to certain functions when I had the Gold Monkey and didn't know what went missing. If I get another Gold Monkey I will try to never update again).

If you have a 4.x or Lifetime License it will work in the current release. If you have a 3.x License you may qualify for an upgrade offer: http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/inde ... iamonkey-4 (contact support with Order Number to find out).
