Cannot drag and drop to Music

Suddenly I cant import music files by dropping them from windows explorer onto the Music icon in the media tree ... I've done this for years with no problems.
Any suggestions about why this could happen ?

I have win 8.1 and had MM 4.1.6.
After reading your post I tried updating to the latest version (4.1.14) and the problem went away.
Sorry, I should have thought about that. Not sure why this was happening ...

Glad it's working!
Something might have gotten corrupted. Run "Optimization (complete)" on occasion for good measure.

Go to the desktop shortcut for mediamonkey
Then right-click and choose properties
go to security and then edit
click every box for your user name
then save

This worked for me so it should work for you

I cant get this to work? Does this feature only work with the pro version of MMW?

I have 64 bit win 10 pro. Have tried security, optimize, run as admin, and still cant drag and drop? Says Im running most current version of MMW

Which version of MediaMonkey and are you dropping on the root Music node (only method possible is on root Collection node)?

Hi there,

I have tried the tips in this previous post to no avail http://mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=87069

I'm on Windows 10 & the latest version of MM. I've also tried rebooting machine & programme.

It's weird as I can see I added files at 10.30 but now I can't add anything. However it will still play a track in MM, I just can't add it to the main music folder or playlists.

You can't drag & drop to the Now Playing or Collection root node, or can't use Add/Rescan Files either to add files? Have you tried a PC restart and are you doing D&D from File Explorer?

I have tried the reboot. I was also able to drag from my downloads folder to the Music node earlier this morning, then a while later, couldn't. Also as previously mentioned I am able to double click an MP3 in my download folder & it will play in MM but I'm unable to find it anywhere.
