So I have a bunch of .MP4 videos I want to manage with MM.
Files that look like this WILL play:
Audio Codec: MPEG AAC Audio (mp4a), Video Codec: H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (avc1)
Files that look like this will NOT play ("Unable to decode this format" error):
Audio Codec MPEG Audio Layer 1/2 (mpga), Video Codec: H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (avc1)
So it looks like the problem is the MPG AAC audio. I seem to remember AAC being a Mac format, but I can't recall. But all my MP4 files play just fine in VLC, do it would seem the codec in on the system. I *did* go to the Windows support site and download the codec pack for my version of Windows. When I try to install it, it says "This update is not applicable to your computer" even though I verified the version and build numbers.
Is there any way to fix this? Do I need to find an AAC codec, or point MM to the existing one?
Thanks.

VLC uses its own codec, while MediaMonkey relies on system. Does QuickTime play the files?
