Going to upgrade from MM2 to MM3! Can't wait. So it says to uninstall scripts before upgrading. I removed two of Trixmoto's via the Add/Remove Programs in XP.

To uninstall Tagging Inconsistencies do you simply remove the .vbs in the MM/Scripts/Auto folder? I do not see an unistall in any directories nor in the Add/Remove Programs of XP.

Any other tips/suggestions for making the leap from MM2 to MM3?

thanks!

Yeah, do a clean install into a new dir structure (c:\progra~1\mediamonkey3\) Afterwards, you copy/install the .vbs scripts form your old location (probably c:\progra~1\mediamonkey\).
Back up your database (... c:\docume~1\%user%\local settings\application data\mediamonkey\) -- I'm not sure whether this is necessary. After you once start MM3, replace the created files on the newly created place (c:\docume~1\%user%\local settings\application data\mediamonkey3\) with the ini and db files from MM2. Start MM3, it should load the old database. Keep back-ups (of the database and scripts, some may be out-dated.) Good luck! Regs,

The first post in this thread. However, I tried it just now and it works. Yesterday (1 minute before my post I tried and received a webpage not found error.

Oh well, it works now sorry for the wild goose chase.

You seems to have managed pretty well even though I've been away and my ISP closed my server. Stay tuned for a massive update of this script in a couple of minutes! :D

Script is updated
Ver 3.0 (2007-12-29) [MM3 only]

Here's a rather nice update. Lot's of fixes and exciting new nodes. :D
When applying this update, it's mandatory to Restart MM and perform: File->Maintain Library->Remove Unused Artists

- Four new Album Nodes are added
-- Albums With...
--- Multiple Comments
--- Songs on Same Disc In Multiple Folders
--- Some Blank Disc#'s
--- No Disc#'s

- Changed name of "Artists with..." to "Persons With..."
- Added five new "Inconsistencies" Nodes
-- Persons With...
--- DB Inconsistencies
--- Non-Letter Inconsistencies
--- Accent Inconsistencies
--- FirstLastName Inconsistencies
--- Number Inconsistencies
- Splitted up "Multiple Genres" into six new Nodes
--- Multiple Genres (Artist)
--- Multiple Genres (Single Album Artist)
--- Multiple Genres (Compilation Album Artist)
--- Multiple Genres (Composer)
--- Multiple Genres (Conductor)
--- Multiple Genres (Lyricist)

- Changed name of "Titles with..." to "Tracks With..."
- Added four new Nodes
-- Tracks With...
--- Track#'s with Leading Zero
--- Track#'s without Leading Zero
--- Disc#'s with Leading Zero
--- Disc#'s without Leading Zero

- Added one new Genre Nodes
-- Genres With...
--- Multiple Assignments

- Fixed Bug with Folder Exclusion
- Reworked the option sheet
- Plus more things I don't remember now

Most of the nodes are self explained when you ran them.
The Persons With... DB Inconsistencies finds duplicate entries of a "Person" in the "Person" table.
I had a few which I blame the Alpha/Beta testing of MM3 so I figured others could have it too.
If you have entries here You fix them by Drag & Drop in respective "PersonType" tree.
you must Drag & Drop Artist to Artist and Composer to Composer.
I've added the ID of the "Person" in sub nodes so you understand what the problem is, it also hints you what todo.
Select a track and chose Find more from same...."PersonType".
Drag & Drop the "Persons" With the highest IDnumber to the lowest.
Example:
Lets say you have problems With ABBA. You Have:
Artist: ABBA (25) [ID: 1248]
Artist: ABBA (7) [ID: 2451]
Artist, AlbumArtist: ABBA (22) [ID: 1248]
Composer: ABBA (1) [ID: 1248]
Composer: ABBA (2) [ID: 2451]
Lyricist: ABBA (2) [ID: 2451]

Click on Artist: ABBA (25) [ID: 1248], select "Find more from same Artist"
Goto the another ABBA entry and select all those tracks and Drag & Drop them to the first "ABBA".
Same procedure with composer.
The Lyricist though can't be dragged to the correct ABBA Lyricist since it doesn't exists.
Here you must instead remove the Lyricist, rename to "nothing" and then apply ABBA again.
Don't forget to perform: File->Maintain Library->Remove Unused Artists, when you are done.

I've probably forgot to mention something but I'm sure you get what's new anyway! :D

Enjoy!

That's strange. It works well here.

Can you try to deselect some Persons with... "XXX inconsistencies" nodes in the setting and see what nodes trigger the error? (i.e. Test one by one,)

Ok, suddenly I understand. I just remember a feature I implemented in the "THE Inconsistencies" node. The script now actually reads all configured prefixes in "Ignore Prefixes When Sorting by artist". I wondered if I should do that or provide an extra entry in TI's options sheet. Now I see that I should have gone for an entry in TI's option sheet instead. It'll be fixed in the next release.
Just disable the node in question and play around with the new ones. I'm sure they'll keep you occupied!
