Hello.
Question
Is there a way to sync a music folder to my iPod without adding it to my MM library first?
Background
Because of the size of my music collection, I have to shrink the size of music files for transfer to my iPod. Because of multiple crashes and the length of time it takes to perform the bitrate conversion and transfer, I have created a 2nd music folder on my computer. This 2nd folder houses only the lower bitrate versions of the music which I transfer to my iPod. The 2nd folder is the one that I use to sync to my iPod.
Here is where I run into a problem. In order to sync to my iPod, I have to add the music in the 2nd folder to my library. Now, I have at least 2 versions of the same song in my library that I want to keep - one at a higher bitrate, one at a lower bitrate. This makes the "duplicate title" function all but obsolete.
Using filters does not help, as the "duplicate title" function will identify any title that has a duplicate within my entire library (with the filter on or off).
Is there a solution that can help simplify this task? It seems MM is set up only to handle syncing from 1 library. Other than going back to an "on the fly conversion", which has caused me tons of headaches, do I have any other options?
Sync a music folder to iPods not in MM Library?

You could try this workaround for multiple databases.
