Hi,
I raised a problem about version 2 of Mediamonkey with regards to the trackpoint of IBM which is not working in the skinned version of Mediamonkey.
Original post is this:
http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11524
I am using the unskinned version of Mediamonkey (which is not as nice looking as the skinned version), because that is the only way I can make the IBM Trackpoint work.
Is there any chance that this could get fixed before the final release of 3.0?
Thanks
kuck
PS: Openoffice also had problems with this, but they have found a workaround to get this to work.. maybe something similar can be done here.
Below is a quote for the solution of OpenOffice
Ok, I finally found the solution to get Thinkpad Trackpoint scrolling to work with Openoffce.
Open the file tp4table.dat in the directory \windows\system32\ using Editor.
Before the following line:
;; Pass 1 rules (These rules run last)
insert the following line:
*,*,soffice.bin,*,*,*,WheelStd,0,9
Take care, its soffice.bin, not soffice.exe...
If this does not help, repeat the same procedure with the file tp4table.dat in c:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP. It seems that newer driver versions use this file.

trackpoint still not working in version 3

Hi,
since there has not been a reply for a while, I tought I would send this little message again trying to find out whether there is a solution in sight?
Is it just me being concerned about it?
I have just gotten a new thinkpad with Vista installed and I would hat to use Mediamonkey in the unskinned version all the time.
Thanks.
kuck
PS: I am happy to do any kind of testing if necessary. Also dont mind to have an alternative workaround available...

Re: trackpoint still not working in version 3
Hi,
I`ve got the same problem with my R500, so thanks for the tip with non-skinned MM.
The only thing i found on forums was this:
"Hi,
Please try the following:
Open folder C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP
backup file TP4table.dat
Open TP4table.dat with notepad
Under the Pass 0 section add the following:
; <application name>
*,*,<applicationname>.exe,*,*,*,WheelStd,0,9
(replace <applicationname>.exe with the name of the executable)
Terminate the following processes: SynTPEnh.exe, SynTPLpr.exe and restart SynTPEnh.exe (or reboot)."
http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... oint+issue
But I`m not able to rewrite that fileince my R500 uses different driver and I don`t know which process to terminate.
But maybe it will help You...

Re: trackpoint still not working in version 3
So I finally made it to edit that file (actually 2 files), but the problem with MM scrolling persists
