Hi,
..internal security settings which are preventing flash executing any javascript (which means the script runs fine until the graphical interface requests it to do something specific - like save or queue an album
..describes the remaining problems exactly - good luck!

The problems with the writing of settings to files - one can at least edit the files manually ..when MM starts the files do get read correctly so it's just a matter of tweaking them.

The files (for anyone who didn't have 0.51 installed and doesn't know) are..

_Settings_Visual-Min.ini
_Settings_Visual-Max.ini
_Settings_Global.ini

The only other problem is that the setting forcing the start state to 'Max' doesn't work.. ..hence i copied my 'max' settings to 'min'.. ..and at least now it all looks as I want it.. ..i'm having fun browsing even if the queueing functionality is fubar.

My inis..

global:

Code: Select all

onlyArt=true
&showAlphabet=true
&showAlphabetMarker=true
&sortOrder=albumArtist
&sortOrder2=albumTitle
&curWinState=min
&autoExpand=false

&showQuickMenu=false

Code: Select all

&rotFGrand=0
&scaleFG=180
&scaleFGrand=0

&yBGadd=0
&coverSpace=-0.15
&shadowFGdepth=50

Dale, I doubt Spybot could have messed things up. I downloaded it and went through its feature and I dont think it acts as a antivirus-type utility that could prevent scripts executions but I could be wrong (after all I dont know much about these things  ) And anyways, you have a restore function within the soft. Maybe you could use that to check if that's the problem you're having.

I've added the .ini files in the PP directory. Though it worked for maintaining visualization settings, double left-click on cover art is still inactive, as is right-clicking : I get the menu but it doesn't do anything.

I also re-installed PP from scratch and that didn't solve the problem either.

I hope you'll be able to find what's wrong. I wish I could help but I'm just useless with scripting issues...

Hi guys,

I've posted up a new version:
http://www.oiltinman.com/downloads/scri ... tures-v091

hopefully this will prevent the freezing that's been occuring.

Main changes:
- edit to how caching works (makes it quicker)
- should no longer interfere with PrettyPictures 0.51 or lower if MediaMonkey 2 and MediaMonkey 3 are both installed on the same computer.
- code to prevent freezing on initial install
- pretty pictures window should no longer disappear
- slight modification to uninstall code
anyone who posts bugs.. please let me know what Operating system you're on, If you have MM2 installed as well, and what you did / last saw in the PP window, etc.

thanks,
Dale.

Hi guys,
at the moment, the main hurdle that's affecting this script for some people manifests as these things:

- double clicking on an album (or any other gesture) does not queue or start any music.
- exiting the visual options says saving, but doesn't actually save. (ini files should appear in the scripts/auto/PrettyPictures/Cache/ directory.
- expanding and contracting the window doesn't work

If you are experiencing these issues, please post what operating system you are using, and if you are using any spyware protectino programs or anything else that might affect your settings (like registry mechanic).

at the moment I'm stump and the only thing I can think of is to format my computer.. but that will only fix it for me, which isn't an option.

thanks,

what about anti-spyware programs, or antivirus or registry mechanic?

monkeyrok 'might' be affected, by the same issue.. but it might just be flash related - haven't tested..
monkeyrok wouldn't be affecting PrettyPictures though, if that's what you mean.

I get Error #70 Permission Denied Line 218 Column 2

Running Windows XP. MM and PP latest as of yesterday.

This is where the cache folder is created - I wonder if you are trying to create it in Program Files or somewhere similar where an ordinary user doesn't have write permission?
Cheers,

line 218.. I can't find anything relevant.. does it say what file?

I'm thinking that maybe you tried to install the new version while the old one was caching? and so it didn't have permission to overwrite a file it was currently accessing or something.
please try again if you don't mind.

everything is createsd in the scripts folder - so permission shouldn't be an issue.

The file was PretyPictures.vbs. Line 218 is the error message line in the routine that creates the cache folder.

"Scripts folder" - that would explain it - Scripts is under Program Files\MediaMonkey and hence is not writeable by your plain ordinary user - only people with Admin privileges. I don't let anyone here run with Admin on except me when I am installing software.

[Edit]
Fixed by editing MM ini file CachePath line - but this shouldn't be necessary, it should default to C:\Documents and Settings\account\Local Settings\Application Data\MediaMonkey\Cache\

that will allow the cache to be written.. but the PrettyPictures flash file won't know where to find the xml file or the images and will freeze.

I will look into this for you, it's a good point. But I'll only be able to change it if I can decompile the flash file because I lost the dev file.

cross your fingers.

Hello, I just installed the latest version of the script, and it seemed to at first work wonderfully, until I tried to use some of the functionality besides surfing through art stylishly.

When I right-click and try to use the playlist commands (insert last, insert next, etc.) it doesn't do anything, nor does double-clicking queue the album.

None of the mouse gestures associated with them work either.

Any ideas? :-?

Also, operating system is Windows XP (SP2)
