Can I use this script simply to make a shortcut node to a folder on my HD (not included in the library)?
The reason is I want to be able to browse a folder with mp3s which have not yet been tagged properly, and so I do not want them included in the library yet.
I know I can do this through the existing my computer node, but the folder I want is a few levels down, so I would like to be able to just go straight to it from a shortcut node.

Not related to this script, however, have you seen Steegy's Favourite Node?

I've used Steegy's FN scipt but it does not offer the same functionality.

EDIT: Also, the FN script doesn't let you create new user specific nodes or add any user specific nodes to the Favorites.

I need some help, I want to create a node that has the same title but different artists but since it involves some complex sql, I am lost. Any suggestions??

Sorry, Nyn. I haven't been using this script since it triggers the invalid track ID bug. As soon as the devs fix that, I'll be able to experiment a lot more with custom nodes.

I found my way around that by using Trixmoto's Clear Now Playing Script. Although I wish there was a way to refill the NP after MM starts. This and some of the other scripts (which you identified) are just too important to me to give up.

But I sure wish I could get the node for Same Tracks/Different Artists working and a way to make some modification nodes but the File Modified field is not supported as a level.

I'm batting 0 for 3 this month.

nyn, found something that might help in regards to your Same Title/Different Artist request. Here is a Magic Node that sounds like it does what your looking for, you could give Magic Nodes a shot, or try and apply the workings of this SQL to this script. *Shrugs*

Thanks that is what actually turned me on to the idea of finding tracks of the same name to investigate whether they are originals/remakes or entirely different songs. Unfortunately, I cannot use MN for two reasons: one it is clashing with another script and I am too lazy to wade through all my scripts to find the culprit and two I am too programmatically challenged to use the complexity of MN. I tried it for a few months but I do not like to stick with something that I cannot figure out how to use without assistance. Thanks anyway.

in the "trackcriteria=" portion, it appears to "function," though I use the term loosely because it takes ages to process and "froze" my Monkey several times. It might give you a solution until someone might come with a better approach.

It took about 30 seconds to run, but it didn't produce any results and I know I have tracks by the same name.

Any other ideas??

Did you enclose it in quotes in the ini entry? I tried the above to see what I would get and it worked for me.

This is what Steve sent me a few weeks back but it didn't work. I am currently using the Advanced Duplicate & Find script as a workaround, but I would like to get this node working.

I have no desire to clear the now playing list so I just have to suck it up until MM gets the bug fixed. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
