MM tracks have no property called Year - it's called Date.

The year and date are the same thing, it can support either 2008 or 4/10/2008, in either case find more from 2008 and not from 4/10/2008.

Year's also in the library > year node.

I suppose you could say the year is derived or implied from the date field.

Hence my suggestion they be called by the same name. But Bex and yourself make a good case that they are not the same thing.
