Batch Art Finder 4.2 - Updated 03/07/2012
Inconsistent Results with Image Choices & Search Results
This is a great script, but I seem to be getting inconsistent results. I just installed v2.7 hoping this would correct the issue, but it still exists.
Here is what I am seeing:
Let's use a single track (from an album) for a test. When I launch the script it typically finds some art for this album. I like to stay in the 240 or 300+ range for my album art, and I have set the options accordingly to limit results to 195-350 or so.
My issue is that when the art comes back on the screen, the results are not in the same order as the actual search results (when you click the art image). Within the script, I consistently get small or unusable art, odd sizes, etc. As soon as I click on the art to actually launch the search URL used, almost always within the first 1-3 images, a 300x300 is found, but the script never displays a 300x300 (maybe not for the first 10+ images).
Why would the script not display choices in the same order as they are shown in the actual search results (when the sizes match of course).
Try this for yourself and someone let me know if they are seeing this as well. I'm open to modifying anything I need to get accurate results, but now I have to go to the web, copy and paste into MM since the script rarely finds the correct size art, when the search results show it #1 or 2.
Thanks for all your help!

This is because at the moment the script will only accept ".jpg" images, as this was all that the scripting methods allowed. Now other formats are available and it's on my list to include these as well.

Malware in BAF
The newest AntiVir version (http://www.free-av.de/) says the batchartfinder.vbs contains malware: HTML/ADODB.Exploit.Gen (http://www.avira.com/en/threats/section ... t.gen.html).
Do I have an infectd BAF file or is this false alarm?
@trixmoto: sorry for sending to your email via your homepage first - thias seems to be the right place for the question.

No worries about the email. As I said in my reply, this is a false alarm. My scripts are normally scanned by three different virus scanners during the course of development (at least two) so you can be sure they are safe.

trixmoto,
Regarding the order of search results and art shown, I am seeing different results for jpgs.
When I launch BAF within MM for a single track, let's say the first image it shows is a 200x200 jpg image. If I click that image, which passes the exact same search criteria to Google, the first image shown in Google Images (on top row, far left), is a 300x300 jpg.
Shouldn't the BAF script show this 300x300 jpg image first? I find that this happens very often for me. Is re-sorting done in the script, once the results are returned from Google?
Is anyone else having this issue?
Thanks for your help, and a great script.

The images should not be reordered, but I will investigate further when I get a chance.

New version (2.8.) is now available to download from my website. Changes include...
- Fixed artwork not always written to tags
- Added option to control filetypes (jpg, png, gif, bmp)
- Added option to remember prompt values
- Added link to show previous image
Adding new sources is still on my list, but will have to wait for now.

Yeah, UAC is blocking the installation. You either need to switch it off for your account or make sure that you right-click on your MediaMonkey icon and select "Run as administator" to increase it's priviledges before double-clicking the installation package.
