3.0.6 1189 RC1 Artwork is a mix of several cover images

Mark,
The issue you raise isn't really new to MM 3.0.6. That's why it's recommended to use either MM or iTunes for music syncing, but not both. Hopefully we'll be able to improve in this in the future.
Re. scrobbling, Peke has made _many_ improvements to the MM scrobbler--you'll see this once we begin posting 3.1 pre-release builds.

I have now been able to reproduce this with only 4 files, 2 from 2 different albums. Have tried several times with different albums and files and getting the same result. I have restored the Touch to factory settings and the latest firmware before each try. No sync with iTunes was made except the one done at the resetting.

Is everybody only having this problem on iTouch? I'm having this issue on an 80GB iPod classic. I never sync with iTunes, only MM, and my artwork is pretty scrambled. Today I did a full reset from iTunes and then went straight to MM to fill it up. Same problem.

This was my post. I guess I wasn't logged in yet.

Packe,
Can you give me the exact set of repro steps that you use with 4 files to trigger the bug? (from a clean iPod/iPhone).
I'm not experiencing these problems on my phone/iPods.
Thx.

Having similar issues, posted in the other thread for the latest version about this.

1. Factory reset of Touch in iTunes. Normal setup is done with naming of Ipod, no sync than the one required.
2. Closing down iTunes.
3. Opening MM.
4. Sending over files to Touch, not necessarily as one batch.
That's basically it.
Would running the debug version help you?
Re: 3.0.6 1189 RC1 Artwork is a mix of several cover images
I have the same issue too! I never use iTunes and have always used MM to upload, index and organise my music collection. Used iTunes 8 to update my iPhone 2g to FW 2.1 then went into the new version of MM to re-upload my music collection. Music trasnferred perfectly and album art seemed okay on the PC but when viewed on the iPhone it is all over the place.
I Auto-Tag'd one album on the iPhone using MM and this seemed to solve the issue for this single album but when I tried this with others, it did not work. Also, sent a single album up to the iPhone and this maintained the album art okay but then sent another and this did not!
Confusing!

Re: 3.0.6 1189 RC1 Artwork is a mix of several cover images
packe,
Can you elaborate re. step 4:
I've been testing this extensively today, and only on 1 occasion have I been able to replicate the problem--when I disconnected the iPhone after MM indicated that the Sync was complete, but before the iPhone had stopped showing the Sync in Progress indicator. Note that once the problem occurred, it seemed to perpetuate itself and the only way to get rid of it was to remove all tracks from the auto-sync list, sync (to delete music from the ipod), and then reset up my auto-sync list.

Can you elaborate re. step 4:
e.g. did you: play file1 on your iPhone and rate file2 on it? did you play a track on your PC and/or rate it? Did you manually sync or autosync the 4 tracks in question? If autosync, how (i.e. via 1 Playlists or selecting several Artists)? Did the tracks in question have linked art in MM or Album Art embedded in track tags? Did each track have only a single image?4. Sending over files to Touch, not necessarily as one batch.

- Have not rated any files.
- I right clicked on a song and chose "Send to" and then selected my Touch.
- I have gone through all albums stored on my harddrive and tagged them by "Auto-tag from the web". The cover arts was selected to be stored in track tags.

Rusty,
It seems that this is the cause of this problem:

Bex,
From what I see at the link, the issue you linked to isn't related to this problem...

I have this problem with the latest build as well: MediaMonkey_3.0.6.1190
I just got an iPod Touch (16GB), and have never used iTunes to sync.

Re: 3.0.6 1189 RC1 Artwork is a mix of several cover images
ACraigL,
Thx for the report. If you clear out your iPod, can you figure out a set of steps that consistently reproduces the problem? Again--the only way I was able to reproduce this was by disconnecting my iPhone prior to the 'sync in progress' indicator being removed.
Thx.

Re: 3.0.6 1189 RC1 Artwork is a mix of several cover images
I've got the same issue. I'm using the latest build of MM (3.0.6.1190), latest version of iTunes (8.1), and firmware version 2.1 for my 16gb iPod touch.
I've managed to reproduce this issue several times with the following steps.
-Clear out all music from the iPod in MM, just selecting the iPod, selecting the music, and deleting. Exit MM, disconnect iPod.
-Load iTunes, connect iPod, adjust settings so that no MUSIC, APPS, PICS, VIDS, will be synched, manually manage what IS synched.
-Restore iPod, no backup, set up as new iPod, give the iPod the same name I always do.
-once restore is done and iPod reboots and iTunes is done working, eject iPod through iTunes, then disconnect. Exit iTunes.
-Load MM, connect iPod.
- I've tried this with a playlist of songs and individual songs one at a time, what happens is that one or two songs will appear as normal under cover flow, but right around the 3rd or 4th song that uses a different cover art (different artist, different album) I'll start seeing the errors. what ususally happens is that the album in the forefront is usually a garbled mix of surrounding album cover art (it's own and the albums to the left and/or right) while the two on each side look normal, BUT if I select one of the albums to the side and bring it to the forefront, IT looks garbled and the two albums (one left, one right) bordering look normal, even if one of them was messed up when I was focused on it.
I'm going to try to uninstall iTunes and MM and delete EVERYTHING associated with them, reboot, and do a fresh install of each to see if anything changes.
Does that help?
