1204 - find more from same folder (explorer) bug [BUG# 5094}

Post by hintergrundrauschen »

Action "find more from the same..." -> "folder (explorer)" doesn't seem to work in current playlist. Works otherwise (in library node(s)). Also, e.g. "folder (my computer)" works when current playlist is selected.

So when showing tracks in the Main Window via a Playlist node, you're unable to "Find More From Same... Folder (Explorer)"? If I'm reading your post right, then I am unable to reproduce on Windows Vista Home Premium. What Windows do you use?

I am using Windows XP Home SP2.

Here, it does indeed work on all other playlists (in the playlist node), but not in the main / current playlist.

I might be a bit dense now but what do you mean with main / current playlist?
Perhaps you can give us a screen shot?
For me it works in any window for every node.

Sorry guys, I was using the German version and re-translated. My fault. It's "Now Playing" in the English version.

I can reproduce the problem here all the time, it doesn't work in the "now playing" node when I select a song in the respective song list and access the "find more from same... folder (explorer)" using context menu / right mouse button menu.

Thanks.

It really works well for me.
I do this:
1. Click on the now playing node
2. Right click on a song in either Now Playing or Main Window and I can see Find More From Sam -> Folder (Explorer).

Did you edit the custom toolbar in any way which can explain this?

It doesn't work for me in the Now Playing Node, it works everywhere else. I reproduce by:

1. Selecting a track in the NP Node
2. Right Click and select Find more from same Folder (explorer)
3. Nothing happens

You're absolutely right. Nothing happens for me either. That goes for both the NP-window as well as the main window if the NP-node is selected. Seems to work fine in all other nodes though. I'll add it to Mantis.

I wonder if it's related to that hintergrundrauschen even can't see the menu?

Added the "nothing happens" part to Mantis with a comment that the menu is missing for one user:

Yes, me too.

Also, when either a "MM Album Node" or a "Magic Node" is selected,

if I right click a track in the Now Playing Window and "Find More From Same --> Folder (Explorer),"

Explorer opens the folder of the track that is highlighted in the Main Window [not of the track in the Now Playing Window which I right-clicked].

Hi Bex,
Bex wrote:...with a comment that the menu is missing for one user...
Just to clarify. I can always see the entry "...folder (explorer)" in the context menu that appears when you right click on a song.

I cannot see it in the toolbar configuration form (right column, at "find more from the same..."), that's why I reported that in a different topic http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... =6&t=35387. Would you mind checking that, too?

Good catch!

I also found that if any node is selected which doesn't add tracks to Main Window (e.g. Location) then "Find More From Same --> Folder (Explorer)," doesn't work.
