Library features

Wrong album art size in “Auto-Tag From Web” feature. Since the best use for this feature is album art I consider fixing this cauze if it isn’t working properly we might still have to go to Amazon for our album art anyways!!!

Launch to Micro Player (tray)

Postby ian_pop » Wed Feb 25, 2009 9:09 pm

This would allow it to manage podcast catching unobtrusively (so as not to confuse other users in the household on a media centre setup).

Re: Syncing to Micro SD card would be a big help.

I couldn't use whichever MSC/MTP mode I saw suggested in another thread.

I second this request (sync microSD cards via MTP while they're in their players). It's a significant feature that is in most other music manager software, but is missing from MediaMonkey.

I have the same issue.

Is this not fixed in the 3.1 release candidate that is currently available?

Different columns and views for each playlist/folder

Postby Jamie » Mon Apr 20, 2009 7:18 pm

Column width and view settings are set for each playlist or folder, rather than universal. The album art/detail view is also set by playlist or folder, rather than universal. In both cases its saved by the playlist, for each playlist.

The idea being that the 'recently played' folder can show a 'last played' column, when no other playlist does, that podcasts can show 'comments' when no others do, that a playlist of full albums can show covers, while a playlist of single songs does not, etc.

Discussed here and here:
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=38424
viewtopic.php?f=4&p=199556

(I'm new, so I think I'm doing the wishlist thing right, but let me know if not and I'll fix it...)

I would like to see the taps to be collapsing, like if you tap another tap, the rest retreats automatically. Would be useful if you have not a big monitor and you can see the playlist with everything in it (well, not all really but more at least).
Just a thought

new column for playlist memberships in track list window

Postby wutzin » Sat May 09, 2009 9:42 am

Hi,

the problem is that when looking at a list of files (say, from a particular artist, or in a specific folder), it is impossible to see which tracks are on a playlist (and which one(s)). The user has to open the track properties for ever individual track and go to the playlists tab.

Request to please add a NEW COLUMN PLAYLISTS that lists the names of the playlists the track is a member of (sorted alphabetically, with a separator, if track is on more than one playlist).
A second-best solution would be a yes/no column that only indicates whether the track is on any manual playlists.

This feature request is discussed in detail here:
http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=35577
http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=30498

This is an often-requested feature - for identical requests, see here:
http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=36144
http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=23702

http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=20143
http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=30727

Not explicit feature requests, but basically posts asking for that feature:

http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=39134

(EDIT:)
If you want this feature, please vote for it here:

Here's a new script from me which does what you want:
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=39589
Advanced Duplicate Find & Fix Find More From Same - Custom Search. | Transfer PlayStat & Copy-Paste Tags/AlbumArt between any tracks.
Tagging Inconsistencies Do you think you have your tags in order? Think again...
Play History & Stats Node Like having your Last-FM account stored locally, but more advanced.
Case & Leading Zero Fixer Works on filenames too!

Ignore Prefixes for Fields Other Than Artist

Postby kane2742 » Sat Jun 27, 2009 10:26 am

MediaMonkey currently has the ability to ignore prefixes when sorting by artist. It should extend this feature to other fields as well, such as the Album and Track fields.

Details and discussion here: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=40614

Portable / Sync support
I'm confused why/how Overdrive Media (overdrive.com) is able to download/sync Audiobooks to a Zune if the comment is true: "Microsoft does not providea Software Development Kit (SDK) for Zune". I suggest MM contact Overdrive Media.
