Albums displayed several times in Properties dialog [#5740]

Post by ZvezdanD »

The Album drop-down list in the Track Properties dialog box displays the same album name several times if the album artists are different for that album. Yes, I know, I should use the same Album Artist for all tracks from compilations, but anyway I think this is a bug.

I don't consider it a bug.

Each album has a unique album id.

What do you think having one greatest hits album would do ?

I must have 30+ greatest hits, but they all belong to different artists/album artists, It would be a bug if there was only 1 greatest hits listed.

I thought exactly like you tekno but then I realized that it's only a text value that should be filled out in the album field so it would be great if it only displayed unique values. It could however become slow so it might be necessary to add an index to the album name field in the database.

Do you realize that I am not talking about the tree panel, but Album drop-down list in the Properties dialog? What is a point having 30+ same album names in that drop-down list?
