well if the folder for your music is hidden in the desktop and settings folder how you going to see it?
but still it is taking a chance if you have more then one person using the computer. more so if that other person or people are children that might mess up things just by clicking and moving the mouse at the same time like clicking on a folder then dragging it to the other side of the screen and letting go of the mouse button when it is over an other folder that has been selected. you can then spend hours trying to find that folder? so keeping them hidden is needed too.
