MediaMonkey Not Saving Album Art, Artist Name etc. to Tag
MediaMonkey doesn't seem to be saving my information to the tags. I highlight the tracks and do an autotag through the web and the album art and other information appears, but then if i doubleclick on a track that I just tagged, the information goes away. I've also added the tracks to iTunes and when I launch the mp3 through iTunes, iTunes cannot find the album art and the updated info is not shown.
In the past when I updated files on MediaMonkey as soon as I launched the file in iTunes all of the album art, artist info etc. updated itself automatically through the tag.
Any ideas on a solution for this?

Are you tagging in the Library or My Computer node? Do you experience this issue on the newly released MediaMonkey 3.1?

Perhaps you closed the auto-tag window before the art had fully downloaded? If so, that could interrupt the tagging process. Give the window a few seconds to download the artwork before it begins the tagging process.

Normally you need to wait till the downloading message disappears.
Also make sure you have enabled "Update tags when editing properties" under Tools > Options > Tags & Playlists.

Re: MediaMonkey Not Saving Album Art, Artist Name etc. to Tag
Hello,
I am having the same issue while tagging tracks in the Library node. I have always saved the album art to the tags. The files are MP3 format. When I add album art to a track, the album art appears to have saved to the tag...but when I click on the file to play it, the album art vanishes. When I go back into the properties of the file, the album art is gone. The same thing happens when I "Auto-tag from Web." The album art downloads correctly, but when I click on the file afterwards to play it, the album art vanishes. I even allow it about 15 seconds to tag. I have made sure that "Update tags when editing properties" is selected in the Options. I have also tried to re-install the new version (3.1) two times and still have the same issue. Oddly enough, if I try to edit a tag on any track added prior to upgrading, I have no issues at all. The problem is only with new tracks added. Any ideas?

I've had large folders of albums in which all of the art has either vanished, or a single cover has replaced the art of hundreds of albums. Lately, most of the onerous data entry has been repairing what gets mysteriously damaged within MediaMonkey.

Are you using MediaMonkey 3.1? If not you should upgrade.
@Others
Please create a debug log as described in the Bug Report forum if you're experiencing the issue that MediaMonkey loses tags in MediaMonkey 3.1.

Confirming same bug. Album art appears to save and then disappears upon playing.
I will create a debug log.

I would say this is generally a problem with either bad file permissions (eg MediaMonkey doesn't have write access to your files) or a problem with the file you are trying to tag being corrupt.byersjus wrote:Confirming same bug. Album art appears to save and then disappears upon playing.

@ nohitter151,
I thought that was the issue, but I've tried tagging numerous tracks from numerous folders and have the same issue with every new track I add. I also checked my anti-virus software to make sure that MediaMonkey had no restrictions. Any other idea of what it could be?

rquez,
We haven't been able to reproduce this internally. If you could send a debug log (see instructions here: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=69 ) that shows this problem occuring, it would be really helpful.
Thanks.

Re: MediaMonkey Not Saving Album Art, Artist Name etc. to Tag
I'm having the same problem. It was obviously saving the art somewhere as it was asking me if I wanted to overwrite the previous file, but I'm not sure where... When I downloaded the debug build it saved it too my desktop. I attached error log to ticket ID WJI-689476.
Re: MediaMonkey Not Saving Album Art, Artist Name etc. to Tag
I've had a similar but slightly different issue for a long time now. When auto-tagging album art from the web, almost all the time, it will save the album art to every track except the last track of the album. Then I have to go into properties and re-save it to all the tracks to get it to stick.

I have the same issue. I tag files from the web and it downloads, but then the album art is gone. This never used to happen before, only with 3.1
