Re: AutoRateAccurate 2.4.2 (6/12/2008) - Preview of the next Gen
Is it possible to have incremental playcounter enabled but also start songs at the beginning for each play, regardless of the playcount?
For example, if I play a song 1.5 times, then play it again, the song starts in the middle rather than the beginning. I would like for it to start at the beginning and make the play count 2.5 after I complete listening to it one more time

Sorry if this question has been answered before, but is it possible to differentiate between manual and automatic rated songs?

no you can't tell which is which after you have rated them with auto rate. but it can tell which it did and you did..
so if you want it to keep the ones you set before it rated then it can.

sorry for the delayed answer. I have a lot to do at the moment.
Well what you explain shouldn't happen. My script doesn't stores the point where you stopped listening so it should start right at the beginning if you play it the next time. But maybe you closed MM and restarted it afterwards? Because then it can start at the point you stopped but that's MM's behaviour and has nothing to do with my script.
So with my script if you play a song 1.5 times and you play the song again, it should start at the beginning. And at the end the playcounter will be 2.5 (you won't see the 0.5 though).

The script see's the difference between autoratings and manual ratings. But since you only see the stars in MM you won't see the difference by yourself.
BUT: With magic nodes it should be possible to make a node with autorated songs and one with manually rated songs.

PS: I've quite a lot of work right now but I really hope to release my next version as I already put a lot of work in it. I'll try to work on it in november.

Glad, you like it!

Well, I don't know if I can implement all these features in the next release as I first want to finish the modifications I already worked on. The problem is that I wanted a bit too much and already worked on different parts of the script. So first I have to make it run again.

Re: AutoRateAccurate 2.4.2 (6/12/2008) - Preview of the next Gen
I've got a bug to report. Some songs seem to get lower rating every time I play them. I'm not sure why is that, but I've noticed that there's part of the ARA code that's either 0 or below 0. For example, before and after a complete playback of two tracks:
1. 0002 AR 000000547699171 7/28/2009 -16 AutoRateAccurate 05 - 2,5 stars
0003 AR 000000197587226 7/28/2009 -21 AutoRateAccurate 05 - 1,5 stars
2. 0002 AR 000000663522902 8/28/2009 -2 AutoRateAccurate 05 - 2,5 stars
0003 AR 000000218164502 8/28/2009 -4 AutoRateAccurate 05 - 1,5 stars
What I've noticed: after playback goes to next song, the rating increases, as expected, but then decreases a second later. Also, If I delete the Custom5 field, and then select from the menu "Rate - Unknown", the rating goes up - even higher than the 1 second 4 star rating - 5 and Custom5 is now 0000 AR 000003231208231 9/9/2009 0 AutoRateAccurate 05.
I hope this helps, if you need more info just let me know.

Hmm... It looks like the SkipDetection doesn't work correctly in your case.florin wrote:I've got a bug to report. Some songs seem to get lower rating every time I play them. Could you tell me:
1. What's the playcounter before and after playback.
2. How long is your track? Is it really short?
3. And just to be sure: Did you really played the whole song? Not just moved to the end?
Thanks for your help!

1. Both track had 2, then 3
2. Both tracks are more than 3 minutes long
3. Yes, no fast-forward whatsoever
Skip detection is on, min=2 seconds, max=100%
After the first track I used PlayNext Plug-in to "enqueue" song 2, but not for song 2, the next song was "shuffled".

Re: AutoRateAccurate 2.4.2 (6/12/2008) - Preview of the next Gen
Hi florin,
thanks a lot. I found the problem: The script increases the skipcounter because it thinks that the song has not been played 100%. The reason: MM plays songs gaplessly. So it doesn't play the whole songlength but cuts silent parts at the beginning and at the end. So it just plays 99% of the songlength.
The solution: Change Skipdetecton setting max to 95%.
In a future version this should be fixed completely by some internal code changes. But untill then just change this setting. You won't notice any bad effects.

oh hey thanks for posting that it reminds me to ask.
just what are all those numbers for in front of the 3.5 star rating in the custom field? i thought it was to be there. but they posted it as they thought it was a bug?
so is it a bug or is it some way of telling me the info about the way it was rated that shows up in all numbers?

The the customfields are used by the script to store informations which MM doesn'tstores by itself.
This is what a customfield looks like and what the different informations mean:Regards
