Why compound? We make a consistent sort order.
Are different things
Do the following:

Take any your playlist "X" and click on the column headings (manual sorting):
Click: Length (A-Z)
Ctrl+Click: Bitrate (A-Z)
Ctrl+Click: Artist (A-Z)

Remember the sequence of tracks!

Now create AutoPlaylist -> Advanced > Search Criteria: Playlist "X" > Sort Order: 1.Length (A-Z) 2.Bitrate (A-Z) 3.Artist (A-Z)

The result is completely the same!

But this is not the sort sequence!
How to make a AutoPlaylist consistent step-by-step sorting?

Take any your playlist "X" and click successively on the column headings (manual sorting):
1.Length (A-Z) 2.Bitrate (A-Z) 3.Artist (A-Z)

Remember the sequence of tracks!

Now create AutoPlaylist -> Advanced > Search Criteria: Playlist "X" > Sort Order: 1.Length (A-Z) 2.Bitrate (A-Z) 3.Artist (A-Z)

The result completely different!
For me the results are same too. Be sure you are using build 1280 and higher.

We both cannot reproduce it.

Could you post a screenshot or your MM.DB so that we could confirm there is a problem?
But I guess there is only a kind of misunderstanding?

As discussed before the search/autoplaylist sort order you specified is equivalent to.

To elaborate on Owyn's comment:

The images that you show, indicate that you were only doing a single sort by either Length, Bitrate, or Artist--you did _not_ do a compound sort. Had you done a compound sort (by pressing CTRL while clicking each of the headers) the screengrab with the Artists sort would have shown _3_ arrows in the column headers (1 in the length column, 1 in the bitrate column, and one in the Artist column) rather than 1.

Hope this helps.

Try the Click (Random) :D

I cited the example for clarity. Real autoplaylist I need to first mix all the tracks (tracks that one artist does not often followed in succession one after the other), then play at first not played tracks, and then played.

For me the desired result I have to do the sort order is not

1.Random (A-Z) or (Z-A)
2.Played # <1 (A-Z)

as it would seem, as

1.Played # <1 (A-Z)
1.Random (A-Z) or (Z-A)

This applies to more complex playlists ...

But the compound sort A + B + C +...+ X + Y + Z = single step-by-step sort Z + Y + X +...+ C + B + A.

Compound sort is the same single sort, only in reverse order.

Old thread but if anyone is interested in being able to sort an AutoPlaylists, which consists of other AutoPlaylists, in the order of the other AutoPlaylists. It can now be done with the latest update of my "Playlist In Main Window"-Script:
http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... =2&t=39589

The solution is to add the name of the AutoPlaylists to a Custom Field and then sort on that.
Advanced Duplicate Find & Fix Find More From Same - Custom Search. | Transfer PlayStat & Copy-Paste Tags/AlbumArt between any tracks.
Tagging Inconsistencies Do you think you have your tags in order? Think again...
Play History & Stats Node Like having your Last-FM account stored locally, but more advanced.
Case & Leading Zero Fixer Works on filenames too!
