Great idea nohitter but its not enough.
Doubleclick on a .mp3 file and it launches MM, bypassing your shortcut.
You can mod the registry etc to add /nosplash to file handling but when MM resets files handling, its gone again.

So instead drag the mp3 you want to open to the MM desktop shortcut.

Or even better. The Dev team add an option to disable splash screen.
This way we don't have to rely on workarounds.

Well, the fact is that you do need to rely on workarounds for now. Since this solution is really quite easy, you might try it.

This solution is easy but nevertheless a workaround.

Hello
A user complained in the french forum that he it's not possible to disable splash screen for the action:
rip a cd with mediamonkey from the autorun option.
He got an error message behind the splash screen and had to kill Mediamonkey in task Manager.
link to the thread: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 36#p272130

According to: http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=679
2. Don't show the splash screen when it isn't an ordinary MM start, e.g. when user starts playback of some files? Sounds like an interesting idea.
Would this apply to all non-ordinary starts? E.g the autorun induced starts?

Also see this related ticket: http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=6526

Thank you.

I've added to the ticket to indicate other scenarios where command line is ineffective.

I'm disappointed that the priority has been set to low. :(

I checked the applications I'm using the most at the moment.
firefox,
media player classic
speccy
bittorrent
cdisplay
soulseek
ccleaner
None of them force me to have a splash screen.
MM is the only one that does!

work around.

put no splash in the command line of the shortcut to start monkey.

start monkey shrink to tray.
or micro player.

go on about your day to day stuff if you want to install mmip file or start song from in the folders by right clickin on it
then go ahead.
the splash screen won't show now cause monkey was already open.
