The auto-rate script uses the fact that the rating field is a range of values. This is a bit of a hack, and obviously if two scripts are trying to do this it could get a bit complicated. Best to wait for native support so we can all do it properly.

Yeah, I recall now that Autorate uses a custom field. I thought it was using a built in ID3 field, my mistake.

You are right since the rating is part of the ID3-tag! As said, when MM4 is out I will implement it but I also think that Big_Berny needs to adjust his script to cater for it as well.

No, I meant that Autorate uses a custom field to store autorate info, including skip count. It then writes to the rating field based on calculations from that field.

I'm sure Big_berny will adjust things if MM4 has a built in skip counter.

A question; in party mode one is still able to use this script. Would it be possible to make it so that this function is blocked when in party mode?

It's probably too early in the alpha/beta cycle but I am sure Bex will be converting this for MM4. Have you tried it, some of the MM3 scripts do work in MM4. Although I already have ideas of additional features due to MM's new skipped track field.

Not sure if you knew this already or not, but both playcount and skipped count are manually editable in MM4...
