Cannot Move MiniPlayer Around on desktop [#7102]

When you select miniplayer and mediamonkey goes into the miniplayer then it stays that way you cannot move it around on your desktop.

well works fine here !
If you use Vitreous Skin , try between 2 objects or near the border around ,
It's a bit difficult to find the right place ,player is full of object ,but it's movable

I did manage to find a "spot" to move it, but even so it was difficult to find that "spot" again. Its not normal behaviour.

my question is how did you get the mini player to show? it freezes monkey on my xp pro.

It is normal, the same skin would behave the same way in MM3.

I think its stupid and not normal, a user has to "struggle" and "guess" where to click to move the player around, with mm3 it is easier and lots of place where a user can click to move the player around.

Look at the following image i posted, see the yellow highlighted part? That is so much "wasted" space that you could use to click on to move the player around, i think most users would click on that, rather than on the red parts that i marked. The red parts are the only parts at the moment that you can click on to move it around.

thanks for the post of the image at least i can see what it looks like even if i can't get it to load?.

that yellow area looks like it is where nohitter151 has the title scroll going. which is not wasted space
some of the songs have long titles by long orchestra names, and will need long space to not scroll if possible.

how ever i do agree you should have a place marked for clicking and moving on some skins.?

most us skinners take for granted that most users know to click and drag the upper left corner's of movable windows or
players. i know i took that for granted on lots of my skins, still some i did put a image to click on like the startreking monkey skin has the federation logo you can click and move, but you see there is issues with that too.
when moving the windows or players the best place to click and move is the upper left corner because that is what will
be the location that will lock in to the docks.

so although he could put an image in that lower left corner to click and move it would not be correct for locking the player
inthe dock and would make you have to kind of guess where to place the cursor to lock it in the dock at.

but a small icon in the upper left corner might be alright to add if he can move some of the other buttons lower with out messing up his style.

Oh ok i understand it now, i just think its a bit difficult, especially for a noob, to figure it out that they should click in those "tiny" spaces between the pause button for example... I struggled the first time and im not a noob.

The reason why i wanted to move it in the first place was the playlist got thrown behind the player and i just wanted to move the player so that i can enlarge the playlist, it was frustrating cause i was clicking everywhere and nothing would happen. I know now where to click, but i can bet you noobs wont know where to click.

looking at that image and knowing your a stickler for being neat. i'm guessing (cause i cant get the player to load) that there is enough room to the left of that button to click and drag. maybe a dark line or square can be put there to act as
the gripper.

I think the remedy for this would be to allow clicking and dragging where text appears. This would require a MM programming change.

Well, not quite. You still can't click and drag on text areas.

Oh right. I tested on main player ( where it works ) and assumed it was fixed for the miniplayer as well.
Seems this need an update as the original ticket is closed as duplicate. So the devs might not be aware of this issue.
