1343: on Windows XP SP3 - issues [#7144]

Post by LikeMM »

1. MonkeyRok does not install correctly (trixmoto's original version too). I get an error box saying "MonkeyRok was not installed". However, the script files seem to be written correctly into the appropriate folders.

But, I get SDB Object not found errors, during script execution.

2. Folder scan is broken :( When I adda simple folder with just mp3 files (the options are set correctly), MM4 says there are no files found in that folder. Only setting the "scan during program start' works.

3. Way too many graphical glitches in dialog boxes, in the main GUI after coming out of dialog boxes.

1. No, I am installing for all users and the files get copied but for this:
00001208 189.67434692 [280] Extensions: copying files from installer.
00001209 189.67454529 [280] Extensions: extracting installation file "F:\MediaMonkey\Scripts\MonkeyRokIC\skins\basic\unknown.gif".
00001210 189.68011475 [280] File decompression error! File: skins/basic/unknown.gif Error:data error

There is no problem with that gif button. It installs correctly with MM3.2 (the button is from trixmoto's original MonkeyRok script. I did not touch it.

I get the dreaded "ActiveX component can't create object error" on my test computer. It has scrrun.dll and an re-registered it successfully. Still getting this error.

2. ..

3. glitches: There are untidy pixels on left, right, top and bottom of dialog panels. Windows native GUI buttons are partially showing below the minimize/max/close skin buttons on top right. If I grab a dialog box and wipe them they go away.

rovingcowboy,

He is telling me. Don't get offended.

I will try to get a debug log for item 2 and post a separate topic.

I will wait on #1 for somebody to install MonkeyRok successfully on either XP or Windows7. I don't want to install this beta version on my main computer; too much at stake. I get only a time-share on the other PC ;)

For issue 2 you don't need to create a topic as you're should send the generated debug log to support anyway.

Lowlander,

I have always had issues with sending the log file through MM debug version. Though it goes through, I don't get any acknowledgment and I am never sure if it worked.

I thought of saving the log file from "Dbgview.exe" and sending it. What email address should I send it to?

Follow the instructions and send it to the helpdesk: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... ?f=6&t=341

The build in error messages don't give you a confirmation other then that it has been send.
