Display restoration.......
To how I had it before..................It was set up as: Album/ Artist / Genre, etc... column on the left.
In the center of the screen, showed the track, or artist, or album you had selected......
and on the right of the screen, it showed the "now playing " column
Which was the way I liked it, until my Buddy came by and diddled with it.........
Now, it shows the now playing , all the way across the TOP, of the screen....
The album / Artist / Genre, etc., on the left,
And on the right 3/4 's of the screen, it shows what I guess is the "Album art", and a bunch of other stuff.........
I tried all of the "view" options, but I can't return to how I like it.
HELP!!!.....................I'm still on the "information dirt road", so keep it simple, plz...
Thanks much!!!

I looked at the "helpful hints" links that you "linked" me to, and saw nothing in the titles of said hints, to direct me to one that may be of help.

Still lost!
Looked for the posts on the topic of resetting the views in the "registry".........No luck...........................Where do I find the "registry"?
Tried the "drag and drop", in the titlebar, to put them where I like, and no dice, getting it back to the the way it was.
Let me explain again, what I am trying to achieve, with hopefully, better terminology.
In the "left dock", was the selections, of "Album/ Artist, Genre, Album", etc...
In the "center dock", was the "selection", from the left dock....
In the "right dock", was the "now playing" list, with all three of these docks, from top to bottom, between, the normal "taskbar" header at the top, ( full width), and at the bottom, the "toolbar" that shows track length, title, (of now playing), stop and startbuttons, eqaulizer, volume bar, etc......
The only "now playing" box that I get now, is a small , square box, with colored keys at the bottom, for stop, and start, etc.....As in, it's not "full height", between the tool and task bars.
Does that help?
I probaly need the latest "updates" to Media Monkey as well..........................How do I get thos, please?
Thanks.

Re: Display restoration.......
yes it is done that way the guest says but i've had trouble with the now playing letting me grab it that way.
some times i need to grab another window.
so i load the track browser to the left of the now playing window.
and then grab it and make it the same height as the now playing, then i drag it down to make it and the now playing the
height i want to have it.
just leave the track browser to the left of the now playing when it is in the top dock this will
keep the now playing at the same size as the track browser, it seems that now playing can't keep the same height without
the other window to do the controll of it.
the album and art and location is the music tree, you must have got it unchecked in the view menu. click it and the
music directory will show up on the left if it was just closed when there.
did your friend change the size of the screen on your computer to make it smaller? if so then put it back to the bigger screen size
and you should be able to get enough room to have all the stuff show up easier. once you get it set back how you like then you can close mediamonkey and make the screen smaller again and when monkey opens the next time they will be where you want them.
you might have to re adjust the height of them again but they should not be out of place.
there was no link on how to upload an image because of the way you need to do the screen shot posts is not by just using this forum only so its needed to ask how. i'll put lowlanders post reply here to you in that helpful links page for others to see. thanks for the kick up side the head on me not having it in there.
what you describe there is that you are not using the top dock.
you only were using the left and right dock and the bottom dock had the player in it.
since you were not using the top dock the now playing window does not go full height and it might just shrink
up on you like that. which is why i now use the top dock for both the track browser then the now playing
but on a small screen you might not be able to use all the docks. what size of screen do you use.
the center dock you say is not really a dock. it can't be moved but the windows and player can be postioned in the top
and bottom of that listview area.
the comment about the registry from lowlander was telling you to do it in the computer registry but since you did not know
what it was then don't go in there as you could mess up your whole computer in there.

Re: Display restoration.......
Again, thanks all, for all your patience, and help.......................I get these last issues cleared, and all will be good again..........Keep up the good work!!!.................I have a LARGE playlist built, and that was to be sent to my Mp3 player, when the "manure hit the turbine"!rovingcowboy wrote:yes it is done that way the guest says but i've had trouble with the now playing letting me grab it that way.

Ok, heres what I have NOW!!!................I have the "now playing", back in the "right dock", the full height, between the upper "task bar", and the lower "player"..................However, I am missing the option to select "what choice" I would like, at the bottom of "now playing", ( re: list, clear list, send to portable device) etc...........Can I get that back, to be able to "send" a playlist, that I have built??????....
I have the "music tree" ( music directory/ genre selection, etc???), column, on the "left dock", ( where it never left!)
the album and art and location is the music tree, you must have got it unchecked in the view menu. click it and the
music directory will show up on the left if it was just closed when there.
did your friend change the size of the screen on your computer to make it smaller? if so then put it back to the bigger screen size..No, he "hovered" in the margin, above the "now playing", and the "upper taskbar", and when he clicked there, everything went to he** !!!...............He was trying to show me what was wrong with HIS Media Monkey!!..........................I told him "Thanks".
Now, I'm afraid, toget anywhere NEAR, the "now playing " icon!!!
I was just before deleting Media Monkey, and downloading again, 'cept I did not know how to retain my "Gold " status!!!
Next, it was moving real slow, when I opened it this afternoon, so I would guess an update is in order..................I "defragged" the hard drive last evening, during the last troubleshooting session, so that should be O K, per the computer's recommendation as far as "defragging" is concerned...............................How do I "update" my Media Monkey?
And how do I get my "options" back, at the bottom of the "now playing" list??
We'll go from there!

Still, no luck on this one.................I updated to the latest version, and ran the "debug" program......Everything runs and moves a lot faster, but still, no selections, at the bottom of the "now playing" list...........I messed around with the panels, and the "now playing" will return where it is supposed to be, when you turn the list on and off as well.
Bummer!..........Guess I'll keep screwing with it,and if anyone thinks of another try, please, post it up, and I'll give it a whirl!!!
Thanks again, for all the assistance!!!!

Hi Stealthcruiser.
Ok if you don't have "delete" as an option do this:
Instead of right clicking just press on the "Delete" key on your keyboard.
Say yes to the message that appears.
And don't bother with the subfolders.
Just make sure HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MediaMonkey\Interface is selected.
Tell me if it worked.

No dice..............................It reduced the size of the "now playing" field, but I was able to relocate it, and re-size same.................Hmmmmmmm..............
It also, ( the past few times opening it) goes through a "reading tracks" mode, which I don't recall it doing before.
