runtime error on startup

Post by hammyz »

every time i open mediamonkey, i get this popup 3 times before it opens:

Runtime Error!
Program: <mediamonkey.exe>
R6034
An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly.

i'm running version 4.0.0.1432 on windows 7 home premium version 6.1.7600 build 7600. i also installed the AAC plugin provided on the site.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Can you:
a) uninstall the AAC plugin (it's for MM3--not MM4)
b) uninstall MM4, and re-install the current build (1441)

That should resolve the problem. Let us know if not.

Thanks.

hi rusty,

is there a way to preserve my preferences and library information before i uninstall? i've got the AAC plugin uninstalled now (the error persists).

OK, so don't uninstall. Just install build 1441 on top, and see if that fixes things.

btw, did you install any scripts/addons that might be causing this behavior.

ok, i installed it on top of the existing install and ran it directly from the install screen. same bug. i installed 2 input codecs, but i deleted them to see if it was the problem and i still had the bug.

Build 1442 (to be posted Friday) fixes a similar problem:
http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=8475

Let us know if that resolves the problem you're experiencing. If not, please send a debug log?

That'll give us the information needed to figure out why this is happening. Thanks.

where can i download this new build? i can't find it looking around the website. is mm v4 being hidden on purpose? because all i can find is v3 builds.

it used to be that it would send the error report and i could still use the app, but now it just closes.

Don't know if this thread is still being monitored/viewed, but after following the previously suggested fixes, I am also still experiencing the exact same error. I mean all I have to do is click OK and then it loads/operates fine, but it's kind of annoying.

Any updated fixes?

Thank you!

hal,

iiirc it ended up being a plugin dll that was the problem. i think it was the one for ipod/iphone. try renaming those and see if it works.
