Have you done something special to get this feature? My gold v3.0.3 RC-4 (1164) shows this only:

Advanced Duplicate Find & Fix Find More From Same - Custom Search. | Transfer PlayStat & Copy-Paste Tags/AlbumArt between any tracks.
Tagging Inconsistencies Do you think you have your tags in order? Think again...
Play History & Stats Node Like having your Last-FM account stored locally, but more advanced.
Case & Leading Zero Fixer Works on filenames too!

So... I'd like to resurrect this thread. The problem I find is that ipods fortunately or unfortunately are THE mp3 player for compatible integrations with homes, receivers, car stereos, etc.... As such you're stuck with ALAC unless you want to hack your iPod firmware with a 3rd part firmware. If you do that however you would lose the capability with the integration devices I mentioned previously. Therefore you're essentially stuck with the Apple firmware. This being the case I either have to switch to iTunes (don't want to do) or find a plug-in for Media Monkey for Alac ripping, playback, and conversion. Since the last posts on this thread has anybody built one or found one? I think there's one for Winamp to playback alac and perhaps in rip to ALAC form.

No solution for ripping or converting tracks to apple lossless exists for MediaMonkey at this point.

I'm really starting to wish that MM could encode ALAC...

I agree. Any news on this? I didn't seen anything recent in the search so I'm guessing no. To the powers that be, "Please provide apple lossless encoding support". Thanks!

Any updates on this issue? I realize MM4 supports AAC encoding, but there is still no support for Apple Lossless.

Apple has just released it's ALAC reference code under the Apache license: http://alac.macosforge.org/

Hopefully, this will shortly* allow ALAC support in MediaMonkey at the same level that MP3/FLAC/OGG.

Given that most everyone is moving to lossless & iDevices only support ALAC this would mean the end of transcoding for me and many others. It would also make adding airplay easier for MM.

* Once 4.0 is out of beta & the devs have time to look at expanding MM's functions.

Thanks for the new hope. I would really like to ditch DBPowerAmp and be able to use MM4 for everything.
