Feature request: album art cache

Post by unknownsoldierx »

Please add the function to cache the album art so it doesn't reload as you're browsing. This is especially annoying on older, slower phones.

its the google player or your default player's settings. it is doing the reloading of the art. it is just the same as the song control wars on the pc's each want to control your music. make sure you have all the options for control set to mma's being the one for control and all the other players you have on the phone set to off.
they hide the options on the other players i got so po'ed at googles for that i don't even update it anymore and wont use it. just too bad i can't remove it. :x

I don't understand. It sounds like you are talking about the lockscreen or widget displays. I'm talking about the actual MediaMonkey app. How could other apps control how album art is displayed inside MediaMonkey?

no i was talking about the art. other apps take control of songs and will go out and get art for them because they were not used to get the art in the first place so they have no record of any, or they are set to get art with newest created date. goggle player was bad about doing that so i stopped using it for anything. since i use my own art for the albums i dont want it changed.

The only players I have are WinAMP and MediaMonkey. All my album art is in the form of front.jpg files in each album folder.

WinAMP loads the art from my jpg files and they are cached so that they load instantly. In MediaMoneky, when I am scrolling through the album list, it has to load each image every time. I have to wait as long as 5 seconds for the all the images on screen to load. As I scroll down the list, those images load. If I scroll back up, the images that where previously loaded are gone and need to be loaded again.

oh i think you are talking about the list view section when viewing album art and not details. if that is right then those thumbnail images were loaded from an cache already but i'm thinking they might be having trouble with it in these new updates.

oh wait i forgot it is the android beta forum you are in not mm beta? so i'm not sure if the images were cached on the android or not? but i do know they should be staying there and the google player did what i said it did. but winamp i 'm not too sure on android i did not like it on android so i got rid of it. i know on the pc winamp trys to control your songs so maybe it is acting the same on android.

but the only way that would be effecting the art is by changing the art to a different image or removing it from the song completely.
there is a size limit in android ops for art in songs. some have art in the tags on mine but the image is too big and wont show on my android. but putting it back on the pc the art is there.

if that is effecting the listview in mma i 'm not sure, but those are the only problems i have had with art on mma. :-?
