Remove folders / drives from Folders tree
Hi,
I want to only see the folder (K:\music) on my network that contains my music files. How can I remove [user], C:, D:, Network etc.?

You can remove them from the Location node.

Re: Remove folders / drives from Folders tree
I don't experience too much need to filter destinations from the Folders node.
But it would be good if we could pin favourite destinations in there.
My music is on a NAS. It takes 5 peck and hunt clicks every time I want to open my Music share.
eg. Folders >Network >MicrosoftWindowsNetwork >WorkGroupName >NASName >MusicShareName

You can, use Context Menu, Send to > Pin it and it will be under Pinned in the Media Tree.

Re: Remove folders / drives from Folders tree
As a brand-new (as in, today) user, I do not understand folders, and thinking I was cleaning up, I accidentally "removed from folder." I cannot find them. I discovered they were deleted from my actual external hard drive as well but are not in Recycle Bin.
Where is "locations" that you mention? Any idea where I can find deleted folders in MM?

Re: Remove folders / drives from Folders tree
It depends on the drive settings, but when MediaMonkey removes files from the drive they should be in the Recycling Bin if the drive is set to use one. If it's not there, the files are likely lost.

Re: Remove folders / drives from Folders tree
I did not know the drive has to be set to use a Recycle Bin, nor do I know how to do that. It's a USB drive. I keep searching my drives in case it was restored somewhere else, and I keep praying.

I don't know if this is an option for USB drives, by default it should be enabled for internal drives.

Re: Remove folders / drives from Folders tree
Thanks, but I am not sure that we are on the same wave length.
I mean that i would like to create pins. for favourite destinations, inside the Folder node.
ie. So that I could navigate, from the Folders node, directly to my NAS music share with a single click, instead of the 5 hunt & peck clicks that are required at the moment.
I tried testing your suggestion, but the Context Menu for a top level share on a NAS doesn't seem to have a functional SendTo option. (MM5 2610). Maybe it is size related. It gets stuck in a "loading" loop .. I left it for multiple minutes but it never resolved.
Maybe this suggestion is off topic, but I think that it goes some way towards the outcome that the OP was seeking to achieve ... ie. a customised Folders node, that is easier to use.

Re: Remove folders / drives from Folders tree
Just disable Show content of folder and subfolders and you should get SEND TO immediately along with PIN IT.Barry4679 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 12, 2022 9:26 am I tried testing your suggestion, but the Context Menu for a top level share on a NAS doesn't seem to have a functional SendTo option. I tested and you can PIN NAS and any root shares.
EDIT: I also added https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=18922 so that 10+ minutes "Loading" is fixed.

Re: Remove folders / drives from Folders tree
I retested, and I still couldn't Pin, but after further investigation I see that pinning from the Media Tree does work as you describe.
I don't ever use the Media Tree, and was pinning from the tree view element that is inside the the main panel view, available in both Folders and Location nodes.
ie. after checking "Tree (folders)" from the View Elements section of the Views drop down menu.
Pinning from there is broken as described, regardless of the Recursive toggle,
Could that be added to your Mantis report?

Re: Remove folders / drives from Folders tree
That is different issue from my description and different part of MM UI, feel free to add it and describe steps I'll try to replicate and clean accordingly if needed (often it does not, you are mostly clear in description/steps).
THX for confirming.
