Hello!
Would it be possible to make MM 2024 something like a client based management application?
The should be a logon to keep certain data and files separate from each other.
For example i mostly listen music but sometimes i also watch video. I would want to keep both of these separate within MM 2024.
So one logon/DB to only manage music, one logon/DB to only manage video and one DB for each.
Is this a good idea?
Separate DB/Logon for video & music

Hi,
MM do not support Multi User management, but you can use portable installs to manage them separately.
Music and Videos are separated with collections, but you can't lock out one to edit whole library files.

Collections are available to create separate Libraries within the same MediaMonkey Library.

Thank you for your reply
I understand that it is not available right now. I just thought of it as something more for professional use perhaps even at some extra cost Gold / Platinum Feature.
I sometimes digitise CD's for friends. It would make keeping that stuff, which is not mine, separate easier.
I will try and see how it feels with a portable installation.

Re: Separate DB/Logon for video & music
I use the collections to seperate different music collections and video.
Is there a way to put the playlist inside the collections, now i have them all bundled into a single folder Playlists, with multiply playlists under them from diffrent collections. That would be an issue for OP aswell.
So for him i guess the best way is the Portable option.

I am using MediaMonkey on my Retro Systems, using the latest Beta build on Windows 11. Managing ~54k files
Re: Separate DB/Logon for video & music
No, but you can use nested Playlists to create some form of organization under Playlists too.
