Crashes when performing "Locate moved/missing files"

Post by telecore »

It's in the subject line - I can perform a clean install and add a copy of my media files into MMM and it seems to work. If I restore a backup to try and get my windows database moved over, then, of course it can't find the media files. The "Media Properties" option is not there. So, then I have to perform "located moved/missing files" and MMM crashes and ends up in a non-recoverable state where I have to uninstall and re-install it to get it working again. I have about 24K tracks in my library. I don't see a portable install option like windows. Has anyone been able to backup from windows and get the database and all files working? Is there a better way to do this?

Hi.

I’ve just tried it with the latest build (3515), and it works fine
- After installation, I restored from an MMW backup.
- I selected all tracks in Entire Library / All Tracks.
- I opened Locate / Missing Files and selected the mounted volume for my network drive (\\WDMYCLOUD\Multimedia is mounted as /Volumes/Multimedia)
- All files were found and the paths were updated. I tried playing them, and playback works. ;-)
