@Spazz: Unfortunately I can't implement that feature. The developers of MediaMonkey have to support it which isn't the cas at the moment. I also use my ipod very often so I'd really like to implement that feature... By the way: The ipod also only counts a song as played when you listened 30% (or something like that).

About the issue. Can you explain me your exact situation? How much songs do you have? Are they all unplayed (played = 0)? Have you set some ratings by yourself? Would be nice if you could answer that questions. I'll try to fix it as soon as possible.

I'll post a reply to the playcounts and everything later tonight when I get home from work, likely 6 or 7 hours from now. But basiclly, the highest playcount is 8, with probably 3/4 of the library showing as unplayed. I have just over 6000 songs and I have them rated themselves but I had autorate clear the manual ratings and just use it's own.

And the ipod actually doesn't show it as played until the whole song is played, unless they changed something.

Ok, I think I found the problem. But it's not really a bug and it only happens if you only have very low playcounts.
I'll try to fix it in version 1.55.

The only reason I had really thought of it as a bug was that I had used it before in the same situation and it tended to set my song ratings as 3 or unknown.

It'll be great to have it working for me again :)

@Spazz: Do you still have the problem? Because if you listened your songs multiple times it shouldn't happen...
And strictly speaking the script does all correct because at the moment they are the best songs so they get a five. The only problem is that all songs are equal good at this moment so every song gets five stars.

I really don't know if I should change that behaviour because it would need some big changes of the main concept.

But as I said. After listening to your songs some times they problem shouldn't occur. Does it work for you now?

@ Big_Berny

First of all I want to thank you, Big_Berny, for this wonderful script, it helps me a lot in rating my songs.

Apart of listening music, I use Mediamonkey to sync my iPod. When I did so last time, I noticed, that the ratings on my iPod aren't changed when they are changed in the library by AutoRateAcc.
I localised the problem in the fact, that AutoRateAcc changes the ratings in the database, but doesn't synchronise the tags of the files.
Mediamonkey on the otherside only resyncs the files to the iPod which have changed physically, so Mediamonkey doesn't even realise that something have changed?!?

Am I right? So in my case an option to activate tag synchronisation would be great!!

@WoSo:

@Berni (Cool nick by the ):
I'll have a look. Probably it's much slower if you also change the tags but maybe I'll do it optional.

@Big_Berny: It probably would be slower, but when you change the ratings manually, for example of 1500 songs, Mediamonkey changes the Library entries in some seconds, and do the batch tagging much slower in the background (you can see that process at the bottom). And then the more time it needs doesn't really matter. I agree with implementing it otpional, with the danger of getting the optionpage more complicated.

If you sync, hit the autorate button, then resync again it changes the ipods ratings. It did for mine anyways

@BerniPi:

Thanks for the great script! But I noticed that the songs that it rates do not appear in the correct Library/Rating folder. For example, clicking on the four-star folder shows songs with 3.5 stars, and the three-star folder has songs with 2.5 stars, etc. Is that intentional?

Hi Guest,
your problem is already known and should be fixed in the newest beta version of MediaMonkey which you can get here: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12922

And thanks! :)

Hi,
the new version is finished. I gave it the number 1.6 instead of 1.55 because it has some important improvements. Due some major changes there could be some bugs but in my tests it was stable (more stable than older versions).

Thanks for all your comments and suggestions. I tried to use all of them.

And here is the changelog:
-Added: Confirmations on the "more"-functions. (Thanks kanski)
-Added: Function to update tags. Slower, but useful for iPod-owners. (Thanks BerniPi)
-Changed: Improved SkipDetection&SkipCounter for a more accurate rating of "bad" songs.
-Fixed: MinSkip didn't work correctly for songs with PlayCounter=0. (Thanks kanski)
-Fixed: Crash with fresh database.
-Fixed: Some minor (but important) bugs and interface problems.

Have fun! :)
