MoDementia's Wishlist List (Updated 17-02-07)

Post by MoDementia »

Some have been requested while others I don't think have been.

This is my personal wishlist list that I (and others) can add/remove/comment

1. [Edit] All scripting functionality wishlist is here
http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7973[/Edit]

2. [Edit] All Options [/Edit] in Categorize Toolbar needs “Unknown” option

3. Reverse AutoPlayList Option
Right Click AutoPlaylist > Generate Reverse AutoPlaylist
This will take all the criteria from original playlist and reverse it

E.g. Genre <> Musical, Instrumental, Comedy becomes Genre = Musical, Instrumental, Comedy etc
Or vice versa

Makes it easy to find mistakes in your database. I.e. One of your favourites mistakenly Tagged Genre = Comedy never gets played

[Edit]

Perhaps, there was a reason for it. I think if and/or option is introduced Auto Playlists could become very complicated. I'll think about it for a while. Nice easy feature though.
[/Edit]

4. Double clicking on a column to auto width size it usually results in adjusting the column and sorting by the column. If <-|-> is the mouse pointer/cursor, sort shouldn’t be possible.

5. [Edit] In the main tree view [/Edit] when scrolling vertically and come to a complete stop the screen moves a few lines Up/Down after releasing mouse button. Very Annoying

6. And/Or checkbox for Auto Playlist criteria
I can't do something like this:

e.g. Genre = Musicals, Instrumental and Rating <= 2.5 or Rating = Unknown
or
e.g. Genre <> Musicals, Instrumental or Rating => 3

7. Missing <> in Auto Playlist Rating Criteria
Can’t do Rating <= 2.5 and Rating <> Bomb

8. Option for Auto Organise to only list highlighted songs.
Scrolling through thousands of songs to find/check a hundred or so is difficult and easy to make mistakes

9. Option for Auto Organise to send highlighted songs to a playlist.
Check them all at your leisure (no pressure to click OK), see additional fields and make changes all in the familiar main track window etc.

1. ReverseParseText Method
Can easily be implemented yourself (so it's certainly not urgent), and this scripting wish should be mentioned in the "Scripting functionality wishlist" in the Scripting forum instead.

2. Set Rating in Categorize Toolbar needs “Unknown” option
Also the other classifications in the same toolbar need an "Unknown" (none, empty) option

3. Reverse AutoPlayList Option
This can be done manually very easy, no? Just change <> to =

5. When scrolling vertically and come to a complete stop the screen...
You mean in the main tree view... Indeed, that's annoying.

I agree with most wishes. Most of them have already been requested in the past and are on the wishlist.
Extensions: ExternalTools, ExtractFields, SongPreviewer, LinkedTracks, CleanImport, and some other scripts (Need Help with Addons > List of All Scripts).

When I finish my script you may change your mind about how easy it is :)

If you do change your mind then:
Please put this request in the Sticky "Scripting functionality wishlist" :)
