Font Colour

Post by niknik »

Hi

I'd like to use the Windows System Theme (no skin) with black background and red text. Black background is easy to change -but how do I change the colour of the text to red??

Appreciate the help,
Nik

you need to use the skined version of media monkey and get a skin the way you want too.

there is a very dark red and black skin already for mm2.5.5

check any post by steegy, in his signiture is his link for mm2 skins.

i believe you will find the dark red skin there. 8)

and when mm3 is out there is already a dark red skin for it too. :D

I've thought about this before... since the skinning engine can use Windows Themes, maybe it should fall back on that when a theme element is missing (as it is now, it falls back on an embedded standard skin - "Aqua" I think).
So, then it would be very easy to get what you want (and more logical too): only define one element in the skin: "CaptionText" (or whatever) and set the color of that to what you want. Then enable that skin and see the WIndows Theme, with only changed what you included in the skin file.

@devs reading this: would this be possible?
Extensions: ExternalTools, ExtractFields, SongPreviewer, LinkedTracks, CleanImport, and some other scripts (Need Help with Addons > List of All Scripts).

@rovingcowboy
The thing is that I'd like to not use any skin at all -but still do ehat I'm asking (if possible)

@Steegy
Sorry but I am a little slow and don't quite follow. If you actually are explaining me a way to do this could you maybe say it in a way my small brain could figure out? :oops: :D

Steegy's suggestion is for the devs... and a good one at that.

basically.. it's not possible at the moment, because not using skins means you can't change a thing - which is logical.

however, he's suggesting that MM does a bit of both.. so you can change a colour (like you want) but not use any more skinning than you need to.

?? i have never understood this not wanting to tweak or modify things?

i know people don't do it but i can't understand why?

i took my car apart and added bucket seats a wooden drink consel and combo huge storage box plus an refrigarator in the middle between the front buckt seats and the two halfs fothe rear benach seat.

had 2 graphic equlizers and an cassette deck and an 8 track tape player.
plus a cb radion and booster and added a holly 4 barrel to the engine,
and added a racing coil to get more spark since it was a racing designed engine,
switched to hotter plugs and a 33 pound pressure radiator cap and re set the pitch on the fan blades to pull more air through it at idle speed. oh and had 16 speakers in the car in different locations as in sub woofers under the seats and tweaters under the dash..

just al in all set that old buick electria 225 up. i even had it squeling tires for 100 feet. that don't sound like much but when you consider that 1964
car had real cast iron and chrome on it with a huge steel X frame and body. that thing was heavy about 5000 pounds and over 18 feet long. counting the fog lights :wink:

but i did all that then while i was driving the semi truck dad up and undid all i had done and put it back to stock.??? and sold it.
then took all my electronics set them in a shed that had holes in the roof
so the rain destroied them?

he just does not mod anything anymore? i can't understand that not even from him?

why don't people mod things i even mod the yard by putting in new trees and other plants.

i just can't leave things in oem shape if i can do any mod to them at all i will.

can you tell me why people don't mod??? :o :-?

@rovingcowboy:

:D :D I wouldn't mind tweaking or modifying. The reason I put my question like this is because I like the basic windows style theme and therefore would like to use that -just with the change of font colours to red /black background. Maybe I can tweak/skin MM to look exactly like this? I dunno -but I do not think I have the ability to do so :roll:

And I'm with you on the modding. Alot of things around us can be tweaked to preform much better than it was made originally 8)
