Silverjuke

Post by plinge »

Came across this MP3 Jukebox called Silverjuke,
http://www.silverjuke.net/ ,
and I must say it is an impressing piece of software. Extremely fast, flexible, lots of options. But it is not a great a mp3 organizer though. I love MM for organizing my collection, but for just playing my music this software really appealed to me. Perhaps MM could implement some of the functions, I especially like the album view on this jukebox. In this view all the albums with covers and the tracks below are displayed in a horizontal view. You have to scroll from left to right to see all the albums. I love that. ChecK out the picture below.

just looked at the screenshot... I really like that horizontal method.. it's more natural and it's actually more screen efficient... currently in mm 3, many of hte tracks need to be hidden to fit the albums in with with consistent placement...

the letter navigation up the top is REALLY cool too.
(maybe if the dev's gave scripters a function to move the focus of the tracklist view, something like this could be made)

I've used it for a bout 5 minutes now...

and yeah.. it's not a very complete program for playing your files in different ways and defintaly no good for organising your files in other ways then albums...

however... there are a bunch of features I LOVE!!
  • - the new searching in monkey is great.. but I love how this program makes the found strings in the results change colour... PLEASE adopt this too monkey!
    - in settings / skins / fonts and covers.. the sliders for changing font size and column width and cover display size are fantastic and mean you don't have to create a whole skin to get slight changes (you can even 'change' the font)... AT LEAST the cover size slider needs to find it's way into monkey for the new album views.
    - in settings / playback / jingles are a pretty neat idea... obviously aimed at jukbox events... has anyone created a script that does this for monkey? it would be neat!
    - I think the shuffle intensity is a good idea that's been borrowed from itunes..
    - in the vvertical scroll album list view... you can select what columns are shown... this is not possible yet in MM3.0 - but hopefully it is coming
fun!

you mean blocking the playcount of jingles from being added too?
yes that has been coded in a script for monkey?

as for timing them to play when ever? no in monkey you still need to time them with task scheduler jobs that run a script by peke to play a playlist with your jingle in.

Inside the mind of blakeloth1:

Hey, I like the look of WMP11. I'll copy it!

A few days later:

What the f...! What is this? A jukebox called called Silverjuke, and someone has made a skin for it that looks really good, just like WMP11, but it's better than my copy!!!
What am I gonna do know...?? (Cries like a baby)
Hey I know, I'll make an Itunes skin... (Evil laughter)
:D :P

All this mimicking is getting a little confusing, can we all just be ourselves please? :)

Oh well, I think I don't understand any of this anymore. :o
The combination of the complicated mimicking and my non-default (cool word, isn't it) English... :-?
