rc-2 -- problem with artist node case

Post by Teknojnky »

This is very weird...

artist and album artist both are lowercase as I want them to be..

Image

Then I click the artist or album artist drop down (doesnt matter which) and the case will change to first letter cap..

Image

And the artist & album artist nodes still show first letter cap even tho I just renamed it lowercase via tree node, then collapse and expand it is back to uppercase first letter again...

Image

So, the artist tree node is wrong, and the drop down list box is wrong, but the tracks are displayed correctly in the track list..

Neither the tree node or drop down list will remember the all lower case..

What is up with that?

edit:

it happens to any artist I test with to all lower case, it changes the first letters of each word to cap.

edit 2: rc-2 also messed up the artist case as well

I can reproduce this too. Checking directly in the database I can see that the Artist isn't updated in the Artists table.

I realize its not listed on the fixed list so I wasn't expecting it, but just to confirm, issue is still present in RC-3.

does not seem to be fixed in 3.0.2.1140

I navigate to an artist 'Aa' in the artist/album artist tree

I change the artist in the track list to "AA"

I close and expand the artist/album artist tree

The tree still shows "Aa" while the tracklist shows "AA".

However..

If I change the artist in the TREE, it updates both the tree and the track list.

So,

changing the track list does not update the tree
changing the tree updates both the tree and tracklist

That's how it always have worked in MM3. Quite annoying but that's the reason I made the "Node vs Track Case Inconsistencies" in TI.
