Bug and unwanted behaviour of double clicking in now playing

Post by Bex »

Bug:
In the NP window when double clicking on the time field.
- The progress bar goes "1 track to be tagged"
Does not happen in the main window or NP main window.

Unwanted behaviour:
In the NP window and NP main window.
- Double clicking on currently playing song does not restart play
- Double clicking on paused song does not start play
Does not happen in the main window (i.e. the track restarts and starts respectively just fine.)

Try double click on Empty Space in NP.

This still happens in 3.0.3.1147
The inconsistency of the behavior between the NP lists and the normal Main Window is rather confusing and annoying.
All views should behave as it currently does in the normal Main Window.

Am I the only one who is annoyed by this inconsistency of the behaviour in the different views?

Devs,
Are you aware of this behaviour?
Are you trying to fix it or is it intended?

I brought this up (I think its the same thing your referring to) a long time ago..

+ double clicking a track in the now playing window (the dockable one) will cause that track to start playing.. (this is how I would prefer it)

- double clicking a track in the now playing NODE (main window) causes the track to follow the tools > options > player "Play Now" action. (I do not prefer this)

My preference is that both windows should have consistent double click behavior, and that behavior should be start playing the double clicked track now (without modifying the playlist order) and not the "play now" action.
