Slim Player - Wishlist

I would think that this is not possible. However, does not hurt to throw it out there...
What I would love to see is a slim play that includes a one line Now Playing window docked with it.
Right now my main tagging project has been to make sure that the comments tag is filled. So, I have comments as one of the nodes visible in now playing. I leave the Monkey in full screen and when a track changes, I click on the Monkey to check on the comments node.
Would be really cool to be able to just glance up and see a Now Playing display.
Basically, this:

Minus the Now Playing Header, "List Edit Copy"....
Basically just a window showing Now Playing and nothing else.

Probably, not possible, but you never know what you Monkeys can come up with!

it might be easier to make the comment field able to be put in the title scroll text area. it might already be there just got to check the wiki and see what code to use in the ini file to put it there? i know you can put lots of other fields in there..

Would need some help with it, tho!

My "Skinning" abilities consist of mixing and matching mini/micro/main players and changing NoArt.png.

i have not looked yet at the wiki but if this is a possible field to add to the scrol line, then it will be listed on the wiki page for how to skin mm3 resouces.
all you would do is open the msz file just change that to zip to open it. then you can extract the player ini file from it.

change the code in the section for the songtitle or the custom1, seciton there is a line in them sections with % A

if the field can be added it will be a letter code, just add that letter code in the line after the A like %A S B
a is for artist, s is for song title, b i think is for bitrate.

but that is how you would add in the info. i've done something like that on the aqua blue reef skin. got two lines with different info in them.

YOUR in LUCK they are working on it. but they only have these fields able to be listed in there.

" %Cn - custom field (n must be between 1 and 5) "

maybe they are going to put the main comment field in there i don't know that is a long field to add.

Sure would like to be able to do this.
Might be posting a request soon in the scripts thread, once I determine how many characters are supported (Do not need the whole comment to be displayed - just want to know that they are there).

You can already turn List, Edit, Copy off by right clicking and Unchecking in View -> Now playing controls

Am I missing something else that you wanted?

You can't remove the Now Playing header but I guess a skin could just have a very thin bar up there (maybe a pixel or so).

he wanted to dock the now playing into the slim player so he could scroll over and check the comments colume of the songs.

but now he is trying to think of a script to send the contents of the comment field to one of the custom fields so he can put the code in to the title scroll to show that custom field also.

which would make it where he does not need to use the now playing list. he just would have to read the scrolling title to see the comment when he wanted to see them.

Yeah, if you look at the screen shot, I have it visible.
In essence what I am looking is an ultra slim NP.
But, I figured it would not be possible to be rid of the Title Bar.

Forgot that I could right click away List Edit Copy.

But The other thing I would like, Which I believe would not be possible, is to not even have the column headers visible.
Basically a very slim Now Playing that only shows what is currently playing.

So, since It probably is all just a dream...
RC had the idea to Change the title window in the slim player to show comments.
Figured that this would only be possible by copying Comments to a Custom Field.
So now need to figure out how many characters the title window supports and how to truncate the comments to under that amount.

Does that make sense?

Ok. I think I get it now

. I was trying to say earlier that it would be possible to skin a very thin titlebar as a workaround, but hiding the columns is more a MM wish than a skinning wish.

So, do you know what the character limit is for the title window in the player?

There's no limit that I know of - it will just scroll. So it is basically whatever you're willing to wait to scroll, I would think.

Cowboy had gave me the impression that there was a character limit. But, actually rereading his post, do not know where I came to this conclusion.

So it sounds promising....
Guess I have some tinkering to do.

more then likely in my pm to you where i said that was a large comment area to add in the scroll line.

i can not image sitting there for 3 minutes of a 3:20 second song reading the title scroll? how can you listen to the song when your reading ?

i sit there and watch the av effects show.

i can't do anything but listen to the songs when they are playing, i don't even play them when i add them in i just add them and fill in the tags and edit and stuff.

i might not hear one of the songs for months until the jukebox gets around to picking it at random.

Now a little more help please....

In screen shot you can see that comments are scrolling in a small space on the right.
How do I (or can I) stretch this?
Or ideally, push Artist - Title all the way to the left and then stretch comments to that (and would it be flexible based on number of characters in Artist - Title)?

Irregardless, of further tweaking, this is exactly what I wanted!

Now I need to transfer all comment fields to Custom 4, wish that the skinning engine supported the Comment field here!

One more question...
Is it possible to change the scroll speed?
