I rather like rude inconsiderate people - reminds me why eschewing humanity is a worthwhile pursuit, and isolation the only true milieu. But that's me. Enforced politeness is... artificial.
However, thinking about it, it would actually take a lot of work to make a skin truly "hideous" - most of them go out of their way to reinforce society's shiny happy 'slick' outlook. You could have a competition of sorts, you know, the beginners start out designing the
Scabies Skin, the intermediates might work on the
Leprosy Skin, and the experts go all out on the
Necrotizing Fasciitis Skin, replete with animated maggots and everything. Now
that would be an Easter Egg.
Wasn't there a punk band called Diseased Flesh a few decades ago? Sometimes you just have to spit in the face of the pretty people to remind them that natural selection is actually the result of raping and pillaging throughout the ages. Not nice happy loving parenting. Pity punk-music never really took off. But at least there's still some rude inconsiderate types left in the world to remind us Polite Society is just a façade. Which, to think about it, is actually what a Skin is anyway. An exercise in artifice.
