Are you using scripts, if so one might be causing the issue.

Did you downgrade from 3.1/3.1.1 to 3.0? If so upgrade back to 3.1.1 as the database isn't compatible.

Otherwise tell us which version (Help > About) of MediaMonkey and add a screenshot of your error message (You can upload to ImageShack).

TMK the SQL program MM uses is not part of Windows and is not updated by Windows Update.

thanks about that chrisjj i just knew they had updated that last month so i thought it might be the cause of it.

but now that i know their operating system. well we all know that is not up to par with windows 9x some of those old systems use mm 3.0 with no trouble some use 3.0 with all kinds of trouble.

windows 9x has trouble with some image formats and some of the skins use those formats. which is why on my page at the wiki i said my skins are not useable for anything older then windows xp. cause of the image trouble i had with my win98.

so too is the sql more likely not the same in win9x as it is now in winxp as everything but vista seems to have be come unsupported by microsoft i doubt they have the right files for monkeys version of sql if it is different then window's version. :-?

well vista is also trashed by microsoft for any fixing, they might put out an security update or two now and then.? :-?

go back to mm 2.5 or the last version of mm 3.x that you had working before. if you go back to mm 3.x you will have to completely remove the monkey and all its files because the older versions of mm 3 don't use the same database they changed it in everyone of the mm 3.x versions so in this type of situation i'd get rid of the new version of monkey and re install the last one that worked for you.

MM 3.0 is supposed to work on Win 9X.

Some of the standard skins??

Win 9X sure doesn't have the right files but then it doesn't need to because MM is supposed to install them.

yes standard skins have the same trouble as custom ones here on my win98 gold version.
and did have on my windows me computer which is why i now no longer have a windows me computer its been wiped. and uses xp pro now.
so from almost the start of win9x to almost the end of win9x i did not try it on the windows 95 computer at moms if it did not work on 98 it won't work on 95. and winme was an os or two shy of being the last 9x system.
i can say it was the whole 9x system that is messed up on the images, and that some are not able to use mm 3 at all.
even if monkey does install the files if they don't work on the old os monkey can't use them. and some of the old hardware just don't cut it. and i am going to say that even you have to admit that windows Me is the worst 9x system they made. :)

Wow. Yet MM is claimed to be tested on Win9X. Thanks for letting me know! This may explain problems of a Win 98 user to whom I recommended MM.

Is there a KB article or bug report that covers this?

> even you have to admit that windows Me is the worst 9x system they made. :)

Agreed, but If it is good enought for MM to claim to run on it, MM should run on it.

I don't think the devs are aware of any issue on win9x systems. If there really is one, I welcome you to open a bug report.
