Create a centralized addon website like Songbird

Post by dragulaas »

Songbird is a tough competitor of mediamonkey and its gaining popularity rapidly (mainly coz of its easy customization). For mediamonkey to keepup with the competition there is an urgent need of a centralized addon website where its easy for mediamonkey users to find relevant scripts. It would also become a breeze if the scripts are automatically updated. This shall further help in increasing the functionality of mediamonkey.

Secondly mediamonkey has a whole community of dedicated users who are coming out with exceptional addons/scripts which make mediamonkey a unique media player. A site with a personal page for each such addon/script would provide impetus to programmers and power users to create addons and maintain them by releasing frequent updates.

Inshort u see the whole process of creation, updating and innovation of addons/scripts is systematized and made easy. It is the next most urgent upgrade required in mediamonkey.

I'm playing with an early version at the moment, it's looking good! :)
Download my scripts at my own MediaMonkey fansite.
All the code for my website and scripts is safely backed up immediately and for free using Dropbox.

Should include User Discussion too. The current system of one thread per script in this forum is inadequate.

I agree, some sort of public bug tracking system for each script would be very useful for scripters.
