4 modified skins

Post by tommae88 »

yes yes, i know this is in a reply on one of the other forum topics, but there aren't a ton of skins released for mediamonkey so i decided to put this out there too just so people can find it easier later on. sorry if that causes problems =/

well, i dont know if i should be releasing this since its just a modified skin, but i will at least give credit where it is due, all of the original stuff came from TOMSOLO who made the aGrayMonkey skin, i have just modified certain graphics/fonts to suit my needs, they are a little darker than the other skins that i have seen at the very least so hopefully this helps...

this skin pack is available at one of the following urls:
number 1: http://myfilestash.com/userfiles/tommae ... yskins.zip
number 2: http://mydls.250free.com/files

the pack has 3 different skins and weighs in at about 550 kb, and 2 of these three skins comes with alternate backgrounds, one of the skins is basically worthless (dark gray, so i wouldn't suggest using that one, for the sake of time and bandwidth i won't even show a picture of it).

now, with each of the below skins all you have to do is extract the zip file to the mediamonkey/skins directory. after this go to choose a skin and make sure to check the "overwrite the skin background" checkbox and choose the backgrounds directory in the mediamonkey/skins directory to find the playing, tree, and list pictures to replace the originals with. once you find the directory choose one of the styles that corresponds with the name of the skin, and make sure the scrolling checkbox is checked for all of the possible options. hopefully those are easy enough instructions, i dont think i made them too difficult =/, thanks again to TOMSOLO for the aGrayMonkey and GrayMonkey skin, enjoy these.

if you have any comments, please feel free to offer some criticism, i'll try and improve these/make new ones if they are horrible.

edit: sorry, i didnt see that the site wasn't working anymore, i'll upload it to a diferent site tonight, hopefully no one passed over this skin because of that =/.

If you are working on a skin, maybe you could send me a screenshot so I can see exactly which frame you are talking about?

this is an old post of mine i figured it out once i got the themeeditor and used the files from the other skin.

but the tempeletes are the skins other images.

you just need the themeedtior.exe skin engine to beable to extract them from the theme.mskn file then you can just make all the images the way you want them. and then resave the theme and your images are used.

how ever in the themeeditor.exe program you are able to tell the program to parts of the images or all the images. so you will need to do some editing with it to figure it out.

it only took me 3 hours or less to figure out the ways the skin program works. of course i use the old version so the new one might be a little different but not much.

i know what you mean about finding a site to host your files.

i was looking to find one with out pop up ads. but they all limit one thing or the other.

i got my angelfire site and they have downloads but you have to put up with pop ups and adverts posted on your page.

its a little bothersome but they got to make money some how to host the free sites. so i put up with them on my page but i use a pop up blocker.

so try angelfire.com and see if you like it?

Don't you guys get free web space from your internet providers?
In Europe (at least in whole Belgium), almost all internet providers give at least 10MB (even on free dial-in accounts!).
Extensions: ExternalTools, ExtractFields, SongPreviewer, LinkedTracks, CleanImport, and some other scripts (Need Help with Addons > List of All Scripts).

Yeah, here in the UK you normally get around 10Mb webspace, but it's often got lots of adverts and stuff pasted everywhere. I used to use mine for holding files, but 10Mb runs out very quickly, and the max filesize was 1Mb as well, which I found limiting. Now I pay for a decent host though! :)
