Determine the time it took to auto sync to device

Post by nohkul »

I'd like to know how long it took to auto sync to a device. Is this possible in MediaMonkey?

monkey did show a progress bar for how long it would be when i put songs on my zen micro. or on my phillips players.
and there is an section of the status bar that shows how many songs is in your list you are sync'ing or how many mb's they are so you know how much is on your portable device.

but as to how long the time will take to move or move and reformat the song to place it on your portable device is up
to the systems cpu and speed of hd's and how much ram is free to work with. which makes it hard for any program
to guess at which time in seconds it will take to get them on the portable device. so you will have to sit there and time
a group of songs and make a guess at what it will take in time to finish it.

:D

:-? unless some script author is able to figure out a way to make it work for you in a script.

I was looking for actual elapsed time from when it was kicked off to when it was completed. It's as simple as me noting when I started Auto Sync and when it completed and calculating the elapsed time. However, I start Auto Sync and walk away and don't know when exactly it finished.

yep i know you want a stop watch to see how much time your wasting by letting the computer sit there with the finished alert on the screen.

its still my same answer you can't judge that because of the vast differences on the ram and the cpu's so it can't give you
an estimate of how long it will take.

but if the script authors can get a stop watch to count down the seconds from the start of the command to the time the command ends its use of the progress bar you might be able to get the time used in some sort of report.

but your still not going to know the time until it is finished with the command.
trixmoto is very busy has a lot on his plate.
bex is also a busy script author,

eyal is just starting he might be able to have time to make a stop watch script to show you the time in seconds it took to complete the command.

lots of the script authors were in school and now are out with jobs that does not give them much time to work on scripts for fun anymore. there are also those that work on the new programming for mediamonkey 4 and are busy with that.

hope one of them can have time to look at this request as it sounds useful for somethings.
:)
