MM hanging (~10 sec) on track selection (caused by lyrics?)

Post by Earthlark »

I'm having a problem with MediaMonkey hanging for about 10 seconds every time I select certain files in the library window. As far as I can tell this affects only two folders. The only thing I've noticed different about these files is that there are lyrics in the mp3 tag's lyrics section. These files are all audiobook files (ESV Bible). I have an identical file naming system (e.g., 02 Mark 08.mp3) with a French version and Japanese version of the Bible in a couple other folders and they all work fine. Must be something in the tag...?

I tried finding more info on whether lyrics cause files to hang, but haven't come up with anything yet. Any ideas?

Try running File > Maintain Library with complete optimization enabled. Also do you have the Art & Details window enabled and showing lyrics?

might not be mmw causing the issue. might be windows slowing up with the loading into the cache for mmw to use. this is what it sounds like because of the larger amount of data in those files.

one way to make sure it is faster is to change the prioity of mmw to a faster one, with a 3rd party app made to keep the new setting after you reboot the computer. i use bill2's process manger to do this. it is from a french developer so it will first show up as french language when you install it just look for the bitish flag to get english. don't mess with windows system processes they don't like their prioity changed.

doing this allows the data to be sent throught the processor before the other programs running in normal priority sort of like line jumping at the amusment park rides. 8)

you can set other apps you have to run in faster speeds also they only run faster when used so this is not jamming the processor it is just making your use of the computer better by making those things run faster. :)
