erratic sync to mapped network drive, skipped playlists etc

I am running the newest version of MM with windows home server. My server's shared music folder is mapped to drive Y: with the \\homeserver\music directory being assigned as drive Y:, consistent with the forum and guide instructions for doing things. I have noticed some weird behavior that is ...

Thanks for the quick reply--that's perfect! I didn't know that script had such powerful options.
I appreciate your help.

export playlists from computer to server, but change folder?

Sorry if I missed this, but I have been searching all evening and can't find an answer... I have mediamonkey set up on my laptop with my full music library (I like to have access to it when I'm not in my home network). I have a windows home server box that I echo all my music to (not using ...

Changing file path from c:\My Music to \\COMPUTER\C\My Music

I am trying to change the way my laptop can use mediamonkey over my wireless home network. Currently my music is stored on a desktop computer with mediamonkey, and I want my copy of mediamonkey on the laptop to access the same files. MM on the desktop has its files located in C:\My Music, and that ...

You got it...
I didn't scroll down all the way to get the latest version, but that did the trick.
Thanks!

Hmmm... I'm still not getting things to work here. I have updated my MM to 2.5.4.969, and "restored" the ipod via itunes to firmware 1.2. I tried to sync my ipod to just a few albums (test) with MM to get album art to work, but still no results. The \iPod_Control\Artwork on my ipod has a file ...

No, the firmware 1.2 actually should be avoided!

Actually, I am going to label the firmware 1.2 as uncool DON"T INSTALL IT if you like mediamonkey and album art... The album art simply does not work anymore, regardless of how things are setup... And to revert back to 1.1.2 firmware you have to remove itunes 7, re-install an older version, then ...

Ipod (5g/video model) firmware 1.2 issues with artwork

I updated my ipod 5g from firmware 1.1.2 to 1.2 (I guess I just felt that I needed a bit of hassle in my life). It is a new methode to update firmware: it's now done by downloading itunes v7 and updating the ipod from itunes directly. Some bugs have been reported, but people seem to be able to ...

Excellent, thanks for this suggestion! I didn't fully understand virtual CD could be so useful in this situation (I didn't realize it would also send the actual .mp3 files to appropriate folders, etc on the mirror drive). This should be great. I understand the logic, I think, for leaving the .mdb on ...

More questions on running MM from desktop/external HD/laptop

I've been scanning all the prior posts on this, and they have been very useful. I still have a couple questions... I have a desktop which has been my MM home base on the C: drive, and a new external HD which I hope to have be the home of all my music and the source of where I usually run MM. I have ...

Aha! you are right of course. Turns out my mask to rename was: c:\mp3\<Album Artist>\<Album>\<Track #> - <Title> And even after applying this mask for a rename, everything would still pop up to be renamed anew when the mask was reapplied (everything was yellow even if the proposed new location/name ...

Auto organize feature: unique color for files 2b moved

Forgive me if this has been mentioned or if there is a way to do this currently... When a feature like "auto organize" is applied to a huge list of tracks, it would be nice to have the "resulting directories and filenames" window display the actual CHANGES in one color, and the tracks/files that ...

Player progress bar slider jumps when drawn back to home...

Not sure if this is an intended feature or a bug. As the title implies, when the progress bar slider is dragged to the left towards the beginning of the song it jumps back to the original spot where the track time had been instead of being capable of locking to the far left (time zero in the track ...

But that's all ok. It lead me down a tough path of worthwhile troubleshooting. To make a long story short, the solution to my problem (and likely many others with the same issue) was that I was transferring the songs to the iPod through the My Computer node instead of through the Library Database ...

This has been discussed in this link:

You must commit to either itunes or mediamonkey to sync, but you ultimately will not be able to go back and forth between both programs... use one or the other to sync to your ipod.

Good luck.
